I ran into the same thing when I was shopping for an 1839-C quarter eagle. I saw five or six pieces to which NGC had assigned grades ranging from AU-58 to MS-62. Each one had been made shine like a headlight. I don’t understand why NGC does this. Their graders need to learn to “Just say NO!!!”
Also a 24hr auction for a coin of this value? can anyone tell if this could be a counterfeit NGC holder
Looks like it has been pulled....The $5 Indian has always been a favorite of mine.... I keep one right here by my computer to look at almost every day..... Cheers, RickO
