What was the most that you have paid for shipping on a coin order.

About $50 on a large group of dollars was probably my largest.

Anything from Heritage! Plus you don't even sign for it. A four figure coin just put in your mailbox. My guess is their shipping charges generate considerable profit.
I have regularly paid $35 for so to Heritage. I never buy coins in qunatity so I have yet to hit the $50 mark.
$138.90 for the return postage on a large NGC submission. The most for a single coin $30.10 for a single coin purchase from Heritage.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
I won a $21,150 coin from a Heritage auction and they charged $67.35 for shipping.
Any returns from PCGS/NGC is always a stupid shipping charge with the way they handle it. I was told it's for "bulk insurance" reasons.
I bought some inexpensive medals recently where the seller charged a few bucks per piece for shipping and would not offer a combined shipping discount... cost me over $100 shipping, ouch!

$30 or 40 bucks.

I just shipped 35 AU58+ Barber Halves, registered mail, two boxes, each insured for $90k. The total fee was $334.50.

Eight or ten years ago a guy won about 8 of my auctions. He wanted a combined shipping discount. Shipping was free I explained but he was looking for more. I shipped the coins and a few months later was notified of a Paypal CC chargeback for $1800. Fortunately Paypl covered it.
Are you sure that isn't Bust Half's? That would be 1/2 the PCGS population and 60 of the 76 are tied up in 2 registry sets!
Around $120 from an auction house in Japan. But, to their credit, everything was securely packaged (about 5 layers) and arrived within 24 hrs via FEDEX. I didn't exactly need such service, and the invoice total didn't exactly warrant it, but it certainly was nice to get such a secure delivery. The other option was a much slower/less reliable route and 'no guarantees'.
I gave Heritage a kidney to cover shipping on my last order.
As per value of a lot won I bet I have everyone beat! Years ago I was cruising ending now listings on ebay. There was a silver bar that was advertised as being used around the turn of the century to transfer funds between banks in China. The starting bid was $.01...yeap a penny. I figured it was fake...but heck..that would make a cool paperweight! I bid and won for a penny(cent for you perfectionists!
) Then I saw the shipping...$69.98!
Well...I got the bar...and it did cost that much to ship from China. While it wasn't what it was supposed to be...it was almost 12 ounces of almost pure silver! Tripled up on that one!
Nearly $100 from a British auction house for a single coin weighing about 1.5 grams.
The auction house did not have in-house shipping and I had to use a private courier and insurer.
I was less than pleased but it's still cheaper than flying over there to pick up my lot.
That would still leave an eight dollar balance.
No, Barbers. They're not mine. I was shipping them back to a customer.
Almost $700 for a round trip. Crazy, huh?
Lance.
The highest I've paid was $1,250 for a single, high value ancient Greek coin. I could have flown to pick it up for less, and shipping was not included in the price. I wasn't happy about it at the time but love the coin so it's all worth it in the end :-)

If they weren't your coins maybe they were shipped to Nebraska.
I try to look for auctions with free shipping. Makes life easier.
I did buy 4 dimes from Heritage about 3 months ago and about fell out of my chair when I seen the final bill. The shipping was insane. Worst I have ever seen.
Later, Paul.
I really do not recall shipping prices.... I do know the shipment of a win from Russia was expensive.... had a lot of neat stamps on it though....
gave them to a collector friend... he was very happy...Cheers, RickO
I don't really know but I am certain it was paid to an auction company.
Shipping for them is clearly another profit line item.

Also it's a cost that must be recovered upon resale.
What was the declared value to incur such a high bill?
I wonder what the charges are for TDN's 1804 dollar or one of the 1913 Liberty Head nickels.
About $250. I had PCGS a Paris grading order to the US. They marked "Metal Samples" on the customs for which put the package into a customs hold awaiting the appropriate clearing documentation noting all of the metals and their compositions. Cost me $150 to get it out of customs with an agent.
Lesson: Have my Paris orders shipped to my UK address. Have my US orders shipped to my US address.
Before you ask, the benefit of Paris is the fee structure doesn't include Guarantee Premiums so high value crossovers are much less expensive. The savings on the coins which crossed in the package was still worth the extra shipping and customs fees.

He probably got free shipping.
$2.67
The most expensive shipping is when they don't show up. I have seen $60-$80 shipping/insurance charges on around $8K, though I hear usps has gotten better on the high value shipments.
