This wasn't in my collection long. @grip saw it, then twisted my arm really, really hard (ow!) until it fell from my grasp and somehow rolled into an envelope and mailed itself to his address. I'm still baffled by the who!e turn of events.

Speaking of the "Bombay Hook ", here's mine,

Though this one was untouched. The Bird on the Bombay is telling the Owl, " Hey, I was here first!"

I got one of these in change this morning. Was my first 2017 coin from circulation.

Nice, lustrous, piece.

Quite the bizarre design, though. (Of course any numismatic depiction of this landmark would look bizarre, no matter what.)

It's interesting, your 1952 WQ has a chrome-like luster, especially on the reverse, and I have found that the Philadelphia WQs from this date often have that feature whereas the San Fransisco coins often are found with resplendent, frosty luster.

Surprisingly enough, given the red toning, this is a P mint, not a D mint.

Given the closeness of the E and S of STATES I do not believe it is a Type B.

Those WQs look pretty dang cool in the retro-doily holders and the inserts on the holders remind me more of gears from a watch movement than anything else.

Raw, hope to get submit it in the next few months along with a bunch of other stuff. I had a PCGS PR64 Toner in this date but I let it go when I found this one. I should re-photograph it at some point...

It has been while since I opened this thread, and all I can say is wow. I really have missed a lot since I last checked, but it was really worth the time to see what beautiful Washington's everyone has posted. Here is my newest acquisition from Tom Reynolds a week ago from the St. Charles show.

Picked up these three in the past week. The 57 Type B looks much better in hand and hopefully will get John/Messydesk to take better pictures.

The other two were bought off Ebay for a Great Price and it is time for me to start buying some of these Regular/None Varieties in MS 67. All three have the green stickers .........

This one is currently at PCGS for grading. It was in a PCI holder as a PR67 Cameo. I'm not sure it will keep the cameo designation but I thought it was pretty nice.

I don't think I've shared this one in this thread. The 1950-S is from a non-Mint Set year so they are not the easiest issue to find with great color. This particular coin has glowing luster on the reverse that is particularly evident on the wings.

Pretty 1950-S Tom. No doubt about it, 1950 is a tough year to find decently toned Washingtons.

@TomB I see, on the left side of the Obv, that almost textile looking appearance. very fine, uniform lines.

I don't recall the explanation for those lines.

Just an awesome Quarter, btw.

I was always planning on keeping that one raw and in a Washington album until I got around to selling the album... the good Lord willing many years in the future, when I'd slab it then (along with a bunch of other Washingtons in the album).

Bob, that is a beautiful 1950-S! I love the skin, the glow and the die polish. It is especially cool given that no US Mint Sets were produced in 1950.
