@Skyman another beautiful coin. @rottnrog that is a neat coin and I thought I have seen one recently in a pcgs slab. @Kccoin a lot of the 1941 quarters have different things going on with the date. @NorCalJack Jay where did that coin come from? That coin talks to me too.
I bought that coin a couple months back. The obverse is a Cameo and the back has some Cameo features. I did post a link to the coin back then. I submitted it to PCGS for reconsideration and the grade stayed at PR67. I had them take a True View of the coin. I really like the photos taken by out host, but the Cameo was lost in this photo.
Great 1950, SkyMan. These aren't found with nice toning as often as the 1950-S issues, which might be surprising. Also, rottnrog has a terrific find in that holder! Holy Cow!
I just got this back from our host. I found this variety in the wild and super excited about the coin and the grade. They took a great photo to capture the tone of the obverse. It is a 1947-S S/S FS-502.
I also have a few other coins that came back that I will post later.
Nice Job Jay, its a lot more fun to find these in the Wild and Make them yourself. Collectors just buy coins, Specialist find them. Look forward to seeing the others..............
OK here is another coin I got back from our host. Very excited about this coin also. 1943-S Trumpet Tail S in MS-66. This is the 8th one made in MS-66 with none finer.
Rumor has it this underutilized and overrated method of payment is on its way out! You read it here folks. Collect them while you can. Soon to be extinct! (Minted in 1932 as a one year anniversary commemorative it was never meant to circulate. It's why NONE were minted in 1933.)
PR66 just graded last month. Bought a full Capital Plastics style proof set for it a couple of years ago.
Contender for best color on a PR 1953 quarter in Coin Facts. This replaced the PR64 I used to own.

Yes all 1964's.

I've said it before but that big eagle design is just classic. It'll be appreciated more and more as it's seen as a less familiar "old" design.
Here's a mate to Joe's 55.

Neat coin. ...and quite scarce.
There is also a single example of a 1964 quarter struck on a clad planchet.
I'm not sure what is going on with the "4" in the date here
