Beautiful disaster - super clashed buffalo

A winning from tonight, but I have no reason to expect that It won't come as imaged. This guy appears to have about every clash that I am aware of, and some that I was not. Very prominent on obverse are 1) chin whiskers, 2) precursor to 2 feather polishing, 3) an impression of the buffalos back in front of Indian chin, 4) impression of buffalo leg in front of Indians forehead. Looks like the dies smacked each other super hard. Then it looks like this coin was the next one through, and got a pretty good hammer itself. Not only are there multiple clashes, but they are all very well impressed. Reverse strike seems particularly good as well. Throw in some die cracks, and the dies and this piece are a true beautiful disaster in my book.

Yep-that's a beauty! Note the "spiked" chin. There's a second clashed die for this date/Mint hat's even nicer.
Nice pics.

That's the kind of clash I like. If you're going to leave clash marks, make it count!

Pretty sharp clash! Nice one...
Not very interested in errors/varieties but I had to take a look at that coin several times, neat
I really love extreme clashed coins. This is one that I would be proud to add to my collection.
These really nice die clashes unfortunately get no respect. The deserve it.
That is a major clash.... those pictures are superb....thanks for showing this Buff... Cheers, RickO
Very cool!

I would have to agree with you on that. It's funny that the only coin series that really takes clashes seriously are Morgan Dollars. The others are treated like Rodney Dangerfield.
Good point! The Buffs along with the Mercury and Roosevelt dimes show some outstanding clashes.
A hard to find series it the Washington Quarter. I happened to stumble across one recently that has most of George's profile clashed and showing on the reverse on the eagle.
Maybe we should start a Crazy Clashed Die thread. That would be very cool and the OP above can show off his as well as any others.
A winner and a very interesting buff. I was looking at that one too the night the auction ended.
a.k.a "The BUFFINATOR"
It's a keeper.!.! Very cool.!.!
I've posted this on the BB before but I'll post it again now for this discussion. It's the best clash I've ever seen and should be worth a SUBSTANTIAL premium IMO.

Here's another interesting clash on a Walking Liberty 50c that I call the "Wingfoot" clash, reminiscent of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber company symbol, the headquarters of which is in my hometown of Akron Ohio.
I love that Roosie. and the Buff. Clashes are neat.
