MS68 with barely a few nics and tics.
MS Beautiful... Much nicer than the 65's I have been looking at recently, I vote 66 or better

MS66. Essentially "flawless" except for a few micro ticks in the fields. 65's tend to have some very obvious grazes and scuffs, nicks. Scared to grade any Lib/shield nickel as MS67 as even when perfect I see them come back as MS66. Elcontador is the man on superb gem Lib nicks.

I would say 66.... I see the extremely minor blemishes, but that is magnified.... Really nice coin. Cheers, RickO

Looks like a well struck piece with very clean fields. Not being able to judge the luster I'll say 66. Now I hope everyone knows by now that you might get close grading by pictures, I don't think you can nail every time.

Have to go with 66.
Might 65 if luster and strike aren't strong enough.

Typical weak strike on hair above forehead, lt. corn and bow knot. Surfaces clean except for a few trivial items that should not affect the grade. Can't tell whether in the middle of the V, there is a small contact mark, or that's just toning.
A small hit in that part of the reverse, in the middle of the V or on part of the V itself, if that's the only one on the coin, is typical re surfaces of what you should see in a MS 66 Liberty Nickel.
I have questions re the color - how dark is the coin in hand? Also, from the image, I don't have a clue re its luster / eye appeal. If the color is on the dark side, it will negatively affect the grade. If it's darker in hand and the luster it muted, or satin, I'd guess it would max out in a MS 65 holder. But if the color is on the lighter side and the luster / eye appeal is good to superior, it could go MS 66.
The one I have in 6 has a better strike than this one, which is why I bought it. You can find a 1911 with complete hair above the forehead, but it'll take you awhile to find one.
7s in this series are very hard to come by. Some I've seen, I think were overgraded. The ones which were all there for the grade, were amazing.

Its a very nice looking coin. But with the very light scuffiness on the cheek, the hit in front of the chin, odd little toning on star 8, and weak strike, I'd say 65+, maybe 66.

I'd say a solid 66... if she had screaming luster then I would say 67!
Thank you everyone! This coin previously resided in an older NGC MS66 holder, and it now resides in a PCGS MS66 holder. I was hoping for a +.
I can see this in a PC 6 holder. Can't see a + though. Toning appears to me as neutral, but a little bit uneven. Minimal contact marks like these are normal for a Liberty Nickel in MS 66.

I've been concentrating on V Nickels as of late,
and am working on an AU 58 set ( now complete ),
a MS Set ( virtually complete ) and a Proof set, again,
approximately 90% complete.
So, I have been looking at hundreds of Nickels in all
grades.
I have no problems calling that 1911 an MS 66.
