For those who don't actually know...the Saint man had one of the finest Saint collections in history...he is just stopping back by to tease those of us who couldn't afford the slab fees on his set. Lol
You had better have deep pockets unless you are going to concentrate on the generic dates.
I've tried series collecting, but I get bored if there are too many coins. I have completed the Type I and Type II gold dollars but there are too many Type IIIs for my taste, especially when you have to pony up for dates like 1861-D which have prices that have gone to the moon. The Classic Head $2.50 and $5.00 coins have been an interesting challenge, but I've learned there are some landmines there too. Coins that are supposed to be "common" aren't.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Is there a place or thread where I may see the collection of saints?
With all these oldbee's starting to show up again, especially ones with deep pockets like the OP, I think its a good sign market is going to begin to heat up again??
Another National Treasure Just showed up and a homeboy to boot. Jay you should be able to buy back some of your coins on the cheap ; )

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Nah, don't bother. That was already done by a guy here several years ago who collected a few premium rare date Saints that set records when auctioned, some or maybe all of which still stand. You couldn't hold a candle to him.
Go for Red copper instead. Although it could turn brown which could leave you with the blues or even the dead rooster blues.

I hear tell there's a hot market for Howlin' Wolf harmonicas.
What you really want to collect is hamstrung in the National Archives.
You need to restore your photo sigline.
Hey - Sainty - nice to see you on the boards again!

Is that a good date to start with??
It would be a return to old hunting grounds, if I remember correctly.

You shouldn 't collect 20th century gold coin unless you know what the heck you're doing.
Sheesh. Newbies.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Start with 1999 and work backward??? Might take a while but should prove interesting
Buy a book first.

Generics and even slight better dates can be a tough sell unless in very high grades.
It's deja vu, all over again !
This gentleman asks a serious question and gets irreverent answers. We need a bit more information first.

Knew him way back in Levittown where we would buy kichel for a nickel.
Dumb idea. It's been done. Try something else?

The word is that the smart money from Japan has been buying stickered gem classic proof gold.
Better get some before it's all gone.
Do you like gradeflation?
As long as they are my coins, YES!
Only when it works to my favor. Otherwise, it is very bad.

Don't worry about Jay.
Ya' outta try chuck-e-cheese tokens or amusement tokens.
How about Shell Mr President Game pieces? If anyone could find the toughies...
Hell, try a set of Indian Republic... ...in Gem. No messy gold or silver to fool with, only good aluminum and nickel.

You could do a complete set of CWTs. That's like trying to sit in the corner of a round room.
You should try modern commemoratives, just to see how you like the whole "collecting" concept.

Jay long time no see...hope all is well. Hope to see you at CSNS Show. Stop by and say "Hi"

Just dropping in to the old forum for a visit. Thanks for the kind words. JB
I'd rather ponder the results of extreme heat on a 2" thick slab of medium rare prime bone-in ribeye!

Thanks for dropping by and glad you are doing well after all this time.
Is it just a coincidence that the collector of the all time Moose Saint collection showed up concurrent with these creatures on my street last night?
We all miss you Sainty

you had a great saint set. just build a type set. you know how hard it is to find nice coins
On second thought, 1933 Saints are so yesterday. Start by having Carr make one dated 1934---just for you---and then destroy his dies.
