Gold smugglers caught with gold in their butts

logger7logger7 Posts: 9,235 ✭✭✭✭✭

You heard it right. On January 10, Gyeonggi Province police arrested three Korean men for trying to smuggle in solid gold bars hidden in their behinds from China.
Police officials arrested Mr. Jung and two others for violation of custom laws. According to police personnel, the smuggling operation ran from last September to January 4 of this year. Mr. Jung was ordered by Mr. Park to smuggle numerous 200gram gold bars worth a total of $8.4 million USD. During the past 4 months, the men attempted to smuggle in a total of 1,969 gold bars. https://www.marketslant.com/articles/gold-smugglers-caught-84-million-behind-them

I was just trying to imagine the retrieval process..... :D Poop in a bucket then hose it out?? Did someone at the shipment end count the bars and communicate that ahead to the receiver? What if one of the couriers had gas during the trip? So many questions..... :D Cheers, RickO

I was told that 100 gram bars were the best way to buy gold, had a few of those, but flat like candy bars, bought from American Metals in OR.
