Oreville on the mend.

Just to bring you up to date, I suffered a mild stroke on August 13t, 2016 after coming back on a cruise from New York to Bermuda in which I literally fell off the wagon in my eating habits. Too much salt and then when drinking too much more salt!

Four days later, I was in my office conducting an audit with the IIRS on my 7th appointment with the Internal Revenue Service Revenue Agent when I could barely function and it took me 3 hours to print a report that normally would take me 3 minutes to do. I was also tripping over boxes and suffered a loss of balance.
On my way home I hit my neighbor's mail box as I was not paying attention to the road and drifting off into la-la land!

I did not realize that I was having a medical problem just thought I was enduring lack of sleep and having "sea legs" after a bumpy sea cruise back from Bermuda to New York.
I kept ordering seltzer water and they kept serving me high salt club soda without telling me.

On Saturday August 13th, I participated in a family day outing to a local lake in Northen NJ on a very hot day enjoying myself when I went into the lake tried to swim and realized I had no strength to swim and struggled to get back to shallow water.

Then I realized something was terribly wrong.

Checked into a local hospital and my blood sugar and blood pressure was off the scale. I was suffering a stroke.

My left side was weakened but my executive part of my brain was thankfully intact. A mild stroke.

Since then I have lost weight about 25 pounds and my blood sugar andhas returned almost to normal and I stopped dusing artificial sweeteners anf went to Stevia. Huge difference. Refined carbs are my enemy as well.
No insulin shots needed but taking a low dosage pill to make sure my blood sugar stays low.

My blood pressure also is back to normal as well and I have been undergoing physical therapy, occupational therapy and cognitive/speech therapy at the famous Helen Hayes Hospital in Stony Point, NY. They were great. I checked out of the hopital on September 2, 2016 and continued therapy as an outpatient.

I am now back to driving, done with PT and OT, still have three weeks left in cognitive therapy but I am up to 95% of where I was mentally and physically.

I made it to the Baltimore show in November with a friend driving me there and back and did ok but did tire a little at the end.

I bought two inexpensive coins, a 1921-S walker in PCGS VG-08 which did NOT sticker and a mercury dime in PCGS MS-65 doily slab which did sticker upon CAC review.

My eyes are getting stronger again. My vision has returned to exactly pre-stroke levels.

I am still on the mend but will be ok.
