I hope she doesn't have thousands of followers, or there is going to be some ruined collector coins. Yeah, and I'm sure they stopped making coins out of silver because they wanted them to be more renewable. Ha ha ha
I would use her method just because it gets rid any "yucky smells" that my silver coins may have. I hate it when my coins smell yucky. Nothing worse. Nothing.
OH my.... I expected her next recommendation would have been.. .....Anyone new to coins, don't do what she says. There are proper methods to "conserve" coins.
Wow.... I have some rusty proof silver coins.
I have vinegar and toothpaste too.
Damn, no distilled water.
I guess I'll have to get some...wait, I can just boil some water.
I'm in business!
Oh muh gawd now I can like clean my coins N things and not ruin em as long as I rinse it with distilled water mmmkay. And if I'm careful and stuff I can probably recycle the vinegar to make a salad dressing with bacteria killing thingies in it because they don't make silver anymore because they need it for other stuff like but they can't find it because no more coins are made of it because they made bullets and things so that's how you clean your coins. Didn't we have a thread not too long ago about how people are being dummied down? I swear its like a practical joke when you see some of this stuff.

Wow... unfortunately, this is reality for non coin people. Those not in the hobby believe cleaning coins is required. And this is typical... well, except for the vinegar part... Toothpaste, silver cleaner, scrubbing pad etc., all available and seemingly logical for those not in the hobby. Cheers, RickO
People! Do not do this! it is too labor intensive. Just find and old ink pen that has the eraser on the end. It cuts the rust much faster, the ink eraser has heavier "grit" than toothpaste, and is not near as messy. Plus it will smooth out those sharp lines on the coin that are always cutting your finger...
Just bad all around....they were using silver for bullets in WW II and wanted to use something less precious for coins? And that is how incorrect information is disseminated...but hey, it's on the internet!
The only hope is that anyone looking to do anything other than melt any silver coins that they have is that they will recognize that there is not, and cannot be, any rust on them and will not follow the steps outlined in the video.

Is there a way to contact her to tell her to take this down or tell her why it's bad?
I believe you need to have a YouTube account to be able to contact her- I don't have one, but if someone does, and is willing, good luck, and Godspeed!

Ah. That makes sense. I don't YouTube either. As PocketArt stated: if someone does, and is willing, please do so. Thanks.
If you want to keep sanity don't read the comments section there, so many people are clueless as to what coins are/were made of. Apparently the general public still thinks they minted cents out of silver during WWII. Some comments are so wrong that I can't tell if they are serious or just trolling.
You have to admit that toothpaste will make your coins minty fresh.

Silver bullets in WWII? First I have heard of it. Distilled water necessary after harshly cleaning with toothpaste??? She is genuinely clueless.
Make sure to use distilled water!!!
Nothing worse than rusty silver.

OMG!
I wonder if she's a toothpaste massage therapist
I wonder when her first lawsuit is coming in for someone that destroyed an expensive rusty silver coin on her advice...
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Rachel knows what's up.
She uses toothpaste to massage out the spots so the coins can relax and have a nice spa day.
Ask we say in East Texas ... "Bless her heart."
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
Lets see, Vinegar and when she got to the toothpaste I had to stop
I always smell my coins and then massage them. It's a coin fetish
And believe me someone will see this and damage a good coin!
Where does one begin.....

I hope you didn't buy your silver dollar hoard from her!
Does she have one about properly taking a bath by chance?
It should start with shoving a bar of soap in her mouth.

Toothpaste is the key element in bringing out that just-minted smile to Ms. Liberty's pearly whites.
Maybe that's why the coins get smelly... they have bad breath.

Between this thread and the comments on youtube, I have been laughing for a solid minute straight. My face hurts. Thanks Rachel!
Bump up for fun, and education.
Couldn't resist! Per Keets post on cleaning coins!
I know right. Who wants an extra tetanus booster shot?
Her ring was originally a two carat white diamond.
good ol Rachel, she definitely deserves a comeback tour.
