Disagree....

A lot of people (or maybe it is just one hater) are disagreeing with my posts... even simple posts such as in the Coin Clock project...
"Nice project.....I find the ideas that collectors come up with to be fascinating... Cheers, RickO"
What's to disagree with...??? Cheers, RickO

Apparently, someone doesn't think you really find these ideas fascinating.

I think clicking 'disagree' is a lazy, immature, thoughtless action. If you disagree, say so and have a civilized conversation.
Someone disagreed with me and I see know way of finding out who it was let alone why they disagreed.
Just my thoughts.

Hey, ricko...blast white coins stink!

Seriously, though, I also noticed that several posts of my own that I thought were simply short and factual were hit with the dread "dislike" tag for me, too. I guess it will all shake out in the end.

Some of the newer aspects of this site are nonsense and should be ignored. Ricko---I enjoy your posts so don't worry about it.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Took me a while to figure out what this post was about. Goofy feature for a forum (along with the other options)-- seems like a futile effort to make it similar to FaceBook. The Coin Clock project is awesome-- any "disagree" there shows how useless the feature is.
That being said, I went ahead and disagreed with this post since it's not in the correct forum
lol
On the bright side, maybe you'll get this cool badge:

ricko I thought no one looked at that glad I did not push any of them and if they did I don't give a S%@t I like the clock . lol
Hoard the keys.
FYI - If you continue to stalk and disparage me in posts, I will flag them. I have actually "liked" many of ricko's posts and tried to help him with some forum issues.
theres all types out there
Probably best that the moderators delete the dislike option. No good reason for having it IMO.
The previous software also had the rating system based on a 1-10 rating. Many at one time or another seemed to be rated without knowing who/why.I know I did twice. If the option exists it will no doubt be used and the target of the rating never knowing who/why. The old axiom applies"you can't please everyone" and may I add at the risk of a demerit, so don't even try.
For the most part I'd say ignore the disagree. If you disagree, post up the reason why. Otherwise, it's like the late opera singer, Pavori said, "Critics are like dogs who look for a way to pee on a monument."
It would be nice if you could see who liked/agreed/disagreed with your posts. You get a popup with a list of names on similar forums.

I received a disagree on a post with 3 different statements. I have no idea what they disagreed with or why. Not really a fan of this posting option.
wow, I never even knew that was available till you brought it up. my question --- can I agree or disagree with myself??
No - unless you have multiple ids as some apparently do.
I agree NOT to disagree with anyone by clicking a silly little icon

Guess I haven't paid attention to that, rather I just read the comments.
This isn't facebook after all.
ricko - you are posts are insightful and always courteous, keep posting!!!
Rumor has it that it's three 'disagrees' and it's out the door. BAM!
I got one the other day.............and you know what...........I still slept real good that night
Steve
Don't let it bother you too much... gave you a "like" on this one to balance out the tally
Looks like you have way more "likes" and "agrees" than "disagrees," so I wouldn't worry much.
Though it is unfortunate if you have a bully or hater "disagreeing" with everything you post, I think the "Disagree" button here can still have some value.
Think of the many posts where people ask for advice (about PCGS, coins, eBay, etc.) and you have another member give clearly bad advice. If they quickly get several "disagrees" on their post, it'll be clear to the OP that that person doesn't know what they are talking about.

Agree!!!!!
There are nutjobs on the forum and the disagree feature fits into their little mindset.
The only time I really see it useful is if someone asks something like "The next US Mint release will be extremely flippable.....agree or disagree" and then when people don't want to post, they can just agree or disagree with the buttons.
Other than that, and it is just those that like to hide and try to bug people. Totally worthless.
Now, on the other hand....when Lakesammman is trying to be serious in a post, I like hitting the LOL button on him
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Thanks. I did not know there was a disagree button. I gave you one just to try it out!,

And I gave you a "Like" for that fine idea!

I got 3 disagrees in this discussion for agreeing NOT to use the disagree button ???!!!

Can you tell who disagrees ?
What a stupid feature. Can't see any good coming from it but hurt feelerz. If you have a legitimate gripe, use the Queen's English & articulate your position.
Just as in life some I respect more than others.
I think the saying is" opinions are like rearends everyone has one and they all stink!
Thanks for all the feedback fellow forum members..... Should I disagree with anyone, rather than hit the icon, I will post a clear, thoughtful response outlining my position.... then we can discuss it in a mature manner. Cheers, RickO
This thread reminds me of an awesome scene from the Simpsons, years ago!
LOL, I hadn't noticed it either! Really, who cares?
That sucks but your scorecard from your profile looks pretty good overall.

This is my favorite thread in a long long time. Finally some real humor. Agree????

Are we really having this discussion?
RickO is one of the most contributing, non-controversial members we have here.
Just dorks exercising their right to do dorky thinks! Forget about it.
The name is LEE!
To avoid any possible misunderstanding, I totally value RickO's comments.

Hahaha this is just like E-bay neg;s for every one. In this case Disagrees for every one.. Lol
Hoard the keys.
I think the "disagree" thing is goofy. If I have something to add that I think is of value, I'll post it. If not, I won't.
There is already so much faceless negativity on the web, why add more?
I don't see how hitting a "disagree" button adds any value to a discussion.
I don't get the concept. Every post in this thread has at least 1 disagree. When you get more disagrees then agrees do you get booted?
Now you're asking too much!
But I gave you an LOL instead of a disagree.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I find it ironic that the guy who has a snarky, tired comment in every toned coin thread is complaining about being disagreed with.
Although ricko clearly does not care for toned coins I have never perceived him as being snarky.
Feel free to disagree.
