Superstar VF's

I generally do not collect coins below EF but I have come to own a very very choice VF's that I have come to love. As a grade, one would expect the coin the have really done it's time in commerce yet some examples exist with choice surfaces and color which make you forget the grade all together.

I actually prefer them in some series.
I prefer a nice 30-35 Morgan over the higher grades from an aesthetic standpoint.
The one in my VF-XF type set is too high in grade. I just haven't found the right replacement.
Great looking coins, Brian! Were all 1876-S $5s struck with Liberty having a pierced ear? A quick look at CoinFacts shows them all with it. Very interesting.
-Paul
Yes, all 1876-S $5's (4000 minted) were struck from the same pair of dies and all have the pierced ear.

This was done specifically for Ms. Liberty's 100th birthday in that she was able to get her ears pierced.
Two almost flawless (mark-free) VF coins...

They are an exception to the rule. Gorgeous for the giving grade.
