There are a lot of marks on the obverse.
We know it is not going to grade MS, so it can only stay the same or go down.
I've submitted old small ANACS holdered coins to PCGS and some go up (rarely) but it's about a 50/50 chance they go down a grade for me.

To me, an AU58 looks like a MS63/64 coin with just a wisp of wear on the highpoints.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
If the coin was blast white, might go 55.
You know they like the white look on these.

If you check minimum 53, you might even get a 55. No way on 58.

What's going on with the 7 in the date? Recut?
I have an 1896-O Morgan that doesn't look as close to MS as your Barber. But I bought it as an XF, and sent it ANACS with some confidence it would make 50. (There is a price jump, and I was proud to "score").
Anyway, it came back as 58!!
I think ANACS was a little loose, at the time anyway, in the AU range. I have a few other stray AU-58's in ANACS holders that I doubt would cross at that grade.
