    I only visit every so often, and when I do, I find so many wonderful coins.
    I think many collectors who appreciate the beauty of this design are somewhat
    daunted when presented with the width and breath of a series, let alone all
    the Seated series. There was once a time - around twenty years ago - that I
    thought I'd attempt to complete the Quarter series in XF 40-45. After about a
    year or so, I realized that the more common dates were plentiful enough but
    even the scarce dates ( let alone the rarer dates ) were not available in my grade
    range - higher and lower grades were out there - just not in XF. It became very
    frustrating, so, I elected to expand my Barber collection, one denomination at a time.
    ( We all know what transpired there... those coins are very addicting. )

    My Dad's parents were both born in the era of Seated Liberty coinage and I have
    dabbled from time to time trying to locate the right coin from either 1889 or 1891
    to fit some sets I'm still working on ( Mint and Proof ).

    Last evening I stumbled across a Quarter that is a stunning example and more than
    worthy of being included in my Grandmother's Birth Year MS set.

    That 1873 quarter I posted is in a Secure AU55 holder. Trouble is it is from a proof die; hence PR55. I returned. Note the 'cut' on the left side of the reverse shield edge into the shield left of the first vertical.
    PCGS missed it and so did the seller.

    Freddie, Thanks on the 58-S. I like the full rims and originality for my Dansco, but I'm concerned that the dark obverse spots are possibly corrosion areas. FWIW, it was in a graded holder, but I chucked the plastic.

    Doug, Very nice 73-S! An under-rated and under-valued coin IMO.
