Seen a couple in-hand BIN for the silver versions, $150 a piece. $1000 BIN for the gold in-hand or best offer. Submitted an offer of $600, doubt it will be considered.

<< <i>Raufus your son has hit it really big! Many very successful people have had positive events like this happen to them
and they have gone on do really great things. Im sure with time and research a person could come up with many
examples but the one that comes to my mind is Bill Clinton in a photo with John F Kennedy. And look where Clinton
ended up - President of the USA is darn big no matter if there were distractions. image

Your son is into Coins and Baseball and probably a lot of other things too. He is a happy and very photogenic young
man that seems to posess a good amount of charisma. All very good qualities that set him on the path to happiness
    and achievement.

Im rooting for your young guy to go on and have a great life. He will have this big event to hold as a good time in his life
which certainly will be a confidence booster. Keep up the great work you're doing in raising a fine young man.

Letting him skip school for a grand time with Coins , Celebs , and the HOF was really a super cool thing to do. >>

    Hi Fullstrike-

Thanks so much for you kind words and good wishes.

He is a great kid. We are very fortunate.

These were a great flip at the show. Sold my allotment that cost $1548.50 for a $750 profit in just a few minutes.

I started trying to get on at 11:01 Eastern (didn't know about the Waiting Room at that point); 38 min. changed to an hour, 20 minutes while I was sitting and staring at the screen. When I finally got on, I got the coins in my Cart, and then it "hung." I had eventually to log off, and try again (2hr 40 min Waiting Room time this time). Got to the end of that, tried again, and the site "hung" yet again.

Tried yet a third time. (38 min. Waiting Room time). Got on, and was able to finally close the deal at 5:12 eastern. All the stuff's on backorder, but at least it looks like I made it under the wire--6 hrs later.

    But what a FUBAR. imageimageimage

I placed 3 different orders and got email confirms for all three..

2:09pm Gold PF and UNC and silver proofs

    2:22pm Silver PF and UNC's

    4:55pm Gold PF's and UNC's

The only order showing on my order page is the 209p order.

Kinda weird the 2:22p order isn't there considering the time and the fact that it was just for the silver version and I would think 4:55p would have got in before the sell out....maybe not

Edited to add: I wonder if it is the household limit thing. I am in no way anywhere near the limit but I bet they QC the orders to prevent additional orders from exceeding that limit. This would explain the 2:22p not being there since it was just for the silver BUT was a 2nd order for the product
  • My backorder date for the proof gold is 7/1/14... whats up with that? Hope its gets changed to a closer date.

Backorder dates for my Proof and Unc golds are now set at 6/16/2014. I wonder what the true cutoff order number is that separates the "lucky" ones from the SOL crowd...

MY ORDER # 42918*** WAS IN AT 12:02. Originally said gold & silver proof & uncirc were all 3/28.

then changed to proof gold 3/28 uncirc gold 6/15 proof silver 4/10 and uncirc silver 4/10

Guess they had to rearrange shipping schedule to take care of " Priorities "

We shall see who has what first. What is second and I don't know who will be left in the outfield.

Mine now has the halves shipping on 3/29, the gold UNC on 5/27 and all others on 4/11. These keep bouncing around. Last night it had the gold unc as first on the list, and now it is last.

Odd occurance. Mint charged my CC for the $4.95 postage just now. I don't normally have it debited until right before they ship the goods. My $1 uncs are slated for 4/11 and my $5 uncs for 6/10. Maybe this means im gold.

All my order now have ship dates ranging from 4/11 to 5/27 including my last order at 5:45 which was for a gold uncirculated so you guys that ordered late still have a good chance as the order number 42958*** is a good guideline for you. I suspect that the proof gold was sold out by then but my last one of them that was good was # 42947***.
    I hope this helps.

Very surprised the gold sold out so fast, kind of thought 50,000 was a good number considering the mintages of recent previous Commemoratives.

I guess it wasn't Commemoratives that fell out of favor, it was the subject matter.

If you mint it, they will come. image

My gold is at 6/16 with an order time of 2PM Eastern time. Order 4293****

I got the gold and silver proof in the basket, but the silver Unc was having issues, so I was like, heck with this, I better check these out. I went back in and got the Unc. Silver on another order, but that was 20 minutes later and 2300 order numbers later. Glad I didn't mess around and went straight to check out, that 2300 order could make a difference. Guess just wait now.

Sorry haven't been able to read all posts. Does anyone have a decent guess what time the items sold out? I can tell you one thing, at about 4 pm est my orders quit showing up in my order history. I had 2 orders around 3:50 pm est time were I got orders listed in my order history. Then a couple orders at 4:04 and 4:08 EST didn't show in my orders until this morning. Coincidence? Dunno????

A few posts back I mentioned that my 2nd and 3rd orders are not showing on my order page (emails received). One was 222pm and the other 455pm

I think it is to make sure the additional orders do not exceed the household limits. The 222p was just for silver and there is no reason for that not to be there.

    I guess we'll find out...

If you mint it, they will come....

Ray. People will come, Ray. They’ll come to Iowa for reasons they can’t even fathom. They’ll turn into your driveway, not knowing for sure why they’re doing it. They’ll arrive at your door, as innocent as children, longing for the past. “Of course, we won’t mind if you look around,” you’ll say, “It’s only twenty dollars per person.” And they’ll pass over the money without even thinking about it, for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they’ll walk off to the bleachers and sit in their short sleeves on a perfect afternoon. And find they have reserved seats somewhere along the baselines where they sat when they were children. And cheer their heroes. And they’ll watch the game, and it’ll be as they’d dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they’ll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come, Ray. The one constant through all the years Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again. Oh people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come.

Try to order a gold proof....you might change the above thought

Also, regarding my two no show orders from 222pm and 455p they are both now on my order page.....

    All set...

Thank you for the information. Mine # 42943***, a tad earlier than yours, now shows "on hold" with a date of 6/16/14. This is for just a couple gold proofs I was whining about earlier. A silver order 42943*** (the last 3 digits differ from my earlier order but are close) also shows "on hold" with a date of 4/11/14. What's with the "on hold"? All credit and address information is current and valid.

I swear, next time I'm taking the day off work and going large. I may be sitting on a bunch of crap but at least I'll get my order in on time. I'll show them

$35 to grade a clad $50 for silver? Would have to have huge premium to make sense, esp. considering 69's. ? do j all think?

Maybe...maybe not. It's all about demand. Clearly the proofs are more popular, at least initially, but long term? Only time will tell.

What I am really curious to see is how the grading (i.e. quality) goes on these. These are weird shaped coins and you gotta figure that minting them presented a whole new set of issues that are not encountered on regular, flat coins.
  • pitbosspitboss Posts: 8,643 ✭✭✭
I only got 2 gold uncirculated and 4 gold proofs and they were all on separate orders so I can sell them individually. I learned in past experiences that was the way to order them for a later resale so they can go for grading as first strikes. I have no interest in keeping any so will not be opening them(unless errors are being found before mine arrive) to take out that very valuable bag that is enclosed with each order. PCGS is going to get a ton of these bags so maybe they can designate them as "first bags" too or in NGC's case "early release bags".
  • BurnieBurnie Posts: 443 ✭✭✭
Is PCGS going to have to design a new holder for these unique coins or will they fit in existing holders?
