Talking to the kiddo the other day about the existence of these and came to the conclusion that I've never owned a 20 cent or $3 gold piece

<< <i>$3 gold piece. The $4 I do not consider a coin and the $50 did not circulate. >>
Ditto on $3 gold and I agree the $4s are patterns and the $50 is a comemmorative.

Yep, the AGE 1/2 oz. is $25 and the 1 oz. is $50, also have $25, $50, and $100 platinum.
So just the $4 missing from my US denomination collection (and as has been said, not really a coin, or at least not a circulating one, like the bullion)

I see people posting $5, $10 and $20 gold as answers, but I don't consider them odd at all... while I do consider $2.50 odd.
That said, $2.50 is the only odd denomination I have owned.
