Give me one good reason why it won't.
Yes or No ?
True or False ?
Heads or Tails ?
Flip or Flop ?
Collect one. There WILL NOT be enough to fill collector demand in the distant future. This is my bold prediction.

I will give away a 2013 UNC Silver Eagle to the person who picks the time/date
when the sale of these exceeds my post count. I just noticed how close in proximity those numbers are.
For this easy contest, if you're a lurker you can PM me your guesses.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Time = 3pm Eastern
I think these will be quite collectible. Why? Only 1 month availability, increasing price of gold will keep away buyers until it's too late.

(Now should I buy 140 pieces, just for the free ounce of silver?)

Ultimately, I don't think that it will exceed the price run-up experienced with the UHR, but it appears to have already become somewhat popular.
I knew it would happen.

What are you actually asking? Your title seems to imply this issue will be a failure. Your last line seems to imply these won't flop.
Fraser's design is pretty popular. Even the silver commem sold out pretty quickly. Those who can afford one of these will get one. Those who are collecting the Reverse Proofs will want one.
What I really want is gold to rally and drive the price of this piece up another $100. Might keep mintage *really* low. (And coincidentally, now that I have mine on order, I want gold to skyrocket. I was rooting for gold to fall for a full two months before these went on sale.
It will be a success in sales... will not have collector value for 75 years (after initial flipping frenzy)....Cheers, RickO
I think they're collectible. At least ONE, anyway. That's how I view collecting. ONE coin, not seven of the same thing. That's kind of boring for me. I don't need a stable of the same thing. If there are implications on anything, it's not that it will flop as in "fail", but will land in the lap of those who will collect ONE.
Beyond that, if it follows the way of "gold" , like ricko says, it probably takes 75 years. But if it goes the way a "few" modern releases go, it would probably behoove readers to quit being doubters and GET ONE.

75 years, can't it at least be 25 years?

Why? The complete Gold Buffalo Proof set is small and outside of 2008 is (relatively) affordable with somewhat reasonable prices over bullion spot

<< <i>I'm not implying a thing , BackroadJunkie. Just starting some discussion as to WHY the coin will flop. As in after the flip. There will only be enough for those who got them during the window of opportunity.

Gotcha.
In 2006, I got a bunch of Silver 20th ASE sets, but only one Gold RP. Only got one UHR.
I was sorry I got only one years later. So I bought two of these, with the intention of one paying for a future vacation, and still having one for the collection. Heh.
If you're looking for a reason this issue will flop, there you are.

Here's how I do my taxes. I write off the cost of this item, plus the shipping costs on my taxes. That will be over $30.
As your "winnings" are concerned, you do not pay taxes on the retail value, but the actual value. So whatever spot price is the day it shows up, is actually what you need to claim as "other income" and pay those taxes on it. That's the code. I am not giving tax advice.
Congrats.

Someone should direct those dealers to ebay where there are two coins right now in a single ad that have been on ebay for nearly 3 days at $360 over without selling. If they sell, the seller should net around just $150 or so over after ebay and paypal fees, etc.
I have heard of dealers or collectors paying $50 - $110 over to buy a coin though.

I had more important purchases to make.
I thought the long line was to get to see, uh get an autograph from our very lovely Treasurer of the United States.
