I can't take good pictures of toned sorry, coins they look great though. I went back to the dealer and asked him if I paid the right amount and much to my surprise he said I over paid and offered a refund. I said no and instead just picked out 3 more nice toned Canadian dollars this time from the stack. Were all good and I will be giving more business to that coin store.

If they are nice toned Uncs you may have done quite all right. Heck, I've paid that much for nice AU's on some of the earlier 50's dates, if the coin looked right.

Huh? Grade always matters when money is involved, unless it's bullion. But as I mentioned before, it sounds like he paid for the numismatic value not the BV so a high grade would explain the dealer's high price.

A good deal if they were Canadian silver dollars, go back and see if he will sell you more for their true value.

You paid for their numismatic value, not their BV ... that's how it sounds anyway
