Well, hopefully the board can find it within them to leave the man alone and allow him to be the member of the community he's been for awhile now. I wish articles like this were being published in mainstream media, it would be good for the hobby.

I like that he mentioned wrestling in his interview! image I have followed his posts and his pickups and happy to have him here. I'll have his RC on my wantlist since he was an Alabama state wrestling champion. I have been a high school and club wrestling coach and I have a small collection of old football cards often with a cartoon on back talking about their wrestling careers. image

    Thanks for sharing. Nice article.

AWESOME collection Evan. Great to see professional athletes collecting as well.

PS. I do remember another board member telling me that an Eagle was a board member, but he would not say who it was. I think respecting Evan's privacy was a nice thing to do.

Nice to see a guy who is level-headed enough to collect Bo and Frank Thomas (Auburn) even though he went to Alabama. Those are some amazing cards!

For what it is worth, he is also one of the coolest people I have ever met as a result of this hobby.
What a terrific collection he has, too.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!

It was pretty much a huge snub for him to not have been originally selected, but at least they got it right.

I obviously was a fan when knowing he was part of our crew, and that he was a high school wrestler too.

Congrats Evan, and love your sense of humor about it.
