Okay, bought my 4th blaster. Don't know why. did notice one thing...on the inside of the top flap is a number. 3 of my blasters ended in 09. Each one had a chrome refractor in the box. The box that ended in 10 was a purple hot box. wonder if there is something to those numbers. Anyway, my list:

a couple of quick questions.....I noticed the error on the ventors card but what are the errors on the other error short print cards #4, 125, 325, 355 and 440? Also I saw the Washington Senators variation for Harper #440 with the Pittsburth on back, is that the error on the other three cards as well??? I understand all the other variations, color swaps, etc, etc but these two still are confusing me.... any help appreciated.
There is an apostrophe on the back of the #4 card. I believe that the other 3 cards have brith dates that are wrong. Harper has two SSP. the Senators card and the Pitsbeoaijfasdfjlgh card.

Seeing this thread made me want to go to my local Target and Walmart to pick up a few boxes. The first box I opened I got a Mini of Mariano Rivera numbered 3/100. Unfortunately, it was totally damaged. It looks like whatever they used to cut it didn't cut it all the way and it ended up pulling it away from the card it was connected to. Is there anything I can do or am I out of luck? Thanks for your time. I like this thread!

Send the card, wrapper, any of the plastic cellophane (if it came from a blaster), the receipt from wherever you bought it, a UPC, a letter requesting replacement, a blood sample, 2 hair follicles, a signed statement from 3 people who aren't related saying you did not damage the card, and your sworn testimony to that fact. Just curious what everyone thinks the beckett or trade value is on these and also what page of this thread shows what cards are the SPs, SSPs and variations I should look for out of the base cards. I have a quick question about the black backs. Are the Sp's in the normal set Sp's in the Venezuelan set ? I see some people advertising Sp's (high numbers) as Sp's in the Venezuelan set. Im under the impression that xxx were made of each card and no SP's. Any thoughts?
There are no SP's in the Venz set, some may say the action variations are short prints, but there is no way to tell that and topps won't tell either. 426 and higher are only short in the base set, not in any of the other parallel sets

not sure how inserts or parallel cards work but last year I had a batch of regular heritage that were mangled out of the packs that I sent in and they sent me back the exact same cards in exchange..... al.

Went through my stock of Heritage and found a Johnny Venters with the 1930 birthdate. Nice little surprise and since I have hit both a purple refractor box in both retail and hobby I suspect that card came out of one of those boxes

prthd and PupilOfPumpsie send me a PM I have several Venezuelan Backs (10 or so) for trade/sell.
I do believe the SPs (425-500) are harder to find in the Venezuelan version. I was able to find all the non-SP Rangers on ebay and get them for $2-$5 each. The SPs I had to pay a around $10 a card and there was only 1 copy for sale when I was looking. Still haven't found a #479 Ian Kinsler yet. Now granted that is an extremely limited sample size over only over a couple of days as I put the team set together. I also busted a case and 4-5 blasters, 10 retail packs, and 4-5 racks and did not receive 1 high number Venezuelan. I also didn't get a mini so maybe I just a had a really crappy case.

Also are the retail black border cards the same 100 that are in the Chrome set? Or are they all 500 cards? If they are the same numbers as the chrome as I suspect I will also need: 125, 261, 444, 473, 479, and 482 (so while they are the Chrome cards - they have regular numbering??? Seriously do they have 83 different people doing this? Some consistency would be nice.)

not sure how inserts or parallel cards work but last year I had a batch of regular heritage that were mangled out of the packs that I sent in and they sent me back the exact same cards in exchange..... al.

Went through my stock of Heritage and found a Johnny Venters with the 1930 birthdate. Nice little surprise and since I have hit both a purple refractor box in both retail and hobby I suspect that card came out of one of those boxes

I do believe the SPs (425-500) are harder to find in the Venezuelan version. I was able to find all the non-SP Rangers on ebay and get them for $2-$5 each. The SPs I had to pay a around $10 a card and there was only 1 copy for sale when I was looking. Still haven't found a #479 Ian Kinsler yet. Now granted that is an extremely limited sample size over only over a couple of days as I put the team set together. I also busted a case and 4-5 blasters, 10 retail packs, and 4-5 racks and did not receive 1 high number Venezuelan. I also didn't get a mini so maybe I just a had a really crappy case.

Also are the retail black border cards the same 100 that are in the Chrome set? Or are they all 500 cards? If they are the same numbers as the chrome as I suspect I will also need:
125, 261, 444, 473, 479, and 482 (so while they are the Chrome cards - they have regular numbering??? Seriously do they have 83 different people doing this? Some consistency would be nice.)
