I have a Venezuelan black back of 89, Jose Bautista, which uses the "Action Image" photo. While all the other black backs I have have a code that ends in "80", the code on this card ends in"84", the same code as the regular action cards. Are all the black backs the action photo, or is this yet another subset?

I believe its another subset. I own the Darvish In Action Venezuelan and I've seen the Regular version on Ebay (if anyone has one, let me know image )

I've also seen sellers advertising them with a print run of 64. How they got that I don't know.

I noticed while surfing Ebay that you can see through the wrapper on the buy back box toppers. If anyone comes across a Carl Willey Mets card still sealed in pack, I would love the chance to buy it before you open it. I know the chances are slim, but I figure it's worth a shot.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

opened a couple of Walmart Blasters, a few single packs and Jumbo packs.

Nothing significant, 2 chrome, 1 refractor.

    2 Blue variations...

At one per blaster that would be a lot to open to get that set...

O'man...i went to a card show today in mansfield ma. I went in with a list looking for heritage needs or cards i could use for trades.
there is a older man in his late 60's that will rip new cards and sell sets and singles. Talking to him as i pick out some sp's and inserts i need i said to him did you open any auto's "(yup"). I said good for you! What did you get anything good? he comes back with yup! What was it? He says a Willie Mays redemption!

I said wow now that is nice pull do you still have it? Nope sold it for fifty. FIFTY? yup fifty bucks!! I told him that the card is worth much more than that and he said well at least i got fifty for it.

I really felt bad for him someone out there got him good. I know he was happy with the fifty bucks but still. Well i did pickup spme add panels and some sp's another box to rip and some single packs so lets see how i do.

It is always the people who know nothing about heritage that pull the big time cards. Uggg.

  • Quick question: why does Topps not produce Heritage football. I know they did it a year to two and that was it. What happened?

many products have not translated from baseball. Vintage reprint sets in football have not been winners for topps. I did a good amount of 2006 heritage, but sticker autographs
    killed that set.

I know what your saying! I just felt bad in a way because the guy didn't have a clue what he had. But when all said in done he was happy with the 50 bucks and someone got a great deal..

  • But it's OK, because the Hudson card in question is No. 141 from the Heritage set, a grouping of cards done in the retro style of the 1964 Topps line. Hudson's regular card is of him about to deliver a pitch. That's the one you want anyway (although some of the Heritages are pretty cool).

  • A little late to the Heritage game this year, but bought 2 blasters from Target tonight. The second one I ripped ALL 8 PACKS pack included a purple border refractor! Looking at the odds, at 1:42 packs for chrome refractors, this has to be a true freak occurance. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

purple refractor hot boxes are about 1:12 blasters, these are not the chromes or refractors that are listed on the box, still a nice box! If they are for trade let me know.

Found this interesting-- Maybe some of you have noticed. Cards 59, 131,203,272, and 406 have no question on the back of the card, but have the white box for an answer. The answer to the missing question on all of the 5 cards is the same, " In the 1840s, a catcher had an assistant." The Darvish purple has no question, but the base card, and the blue bordered card have a question. The Bourn purple has no question, but the base card does. Kershaw in purple has no question, neither does the chrome (999), but the base card does. Perhaps the top 5 cards had no question on the backs in the original set, I do not know. Not that this is a big deal, just some minor variations within the set. Craig in Ohio
