Hey all, thanks for saving your purples for me (and my 6 year old son who is in love with them more than i am)....but i bit the bullet and just bought a complete set.

I do have 24 of my own purples available for trade if anyone needs them.

I am still looking for silver refractors.

    thx, jim.

those box topper relics are nice, but they'd be sooooo much nicer if they had ink on 'em.

Those cases look a lot better, with a better variety, so there's hope.

The Harper is a color variation?

Also, what is stopping anyone from putting a "1" in front of the hand numbered cards?

That is strange...can you sell it as a rarity?

Not sure why the Senators variations don't have the name "Senators" on the top....is the variation the white jersey with a W on the sleeve? (that even looks airbrushed?)

Really there is nothing keeping someone from putting a 1 in front of it other than integrity. I am selling it at a high price because I pulled it myself so I know it's the real deal, and I like the oddness of it so I don't mind keeping it in my personal collection if it doesn't sell for a nice premium. Honestly I don't really expect it to sell.

Yeah, I was just thinking that that kind of "error" is hard to authenticate, and they are slapping the “hand numbered” on cards that are not autos, where the value is the autograph over the number.

Not sure why that is better than the gold foil (or maybe just cheaper?)

Like if that was the gold stamp.

Now it would be odd if 101-193 showed up...... (along with 01-94).

What would be cool is to have it with card "94".

All the #d cards i have seen have front-padded zeros on them, so they can't be altered in the way this one was - it had to be a mistake at factory. Cards have "06/50", not "6/50", or "094/100", not "94/100"

Absolutely killed it on some retail. I would say less than 150 dollars worth. Better than my 9+ boxes of hobby:

    Venz: Maddon,Soto, #4 Pitching Leaders
    Target Reds: WRIGHT,Molina,Votto,Gio,BRYCE
    8 Purple Refs including BRYCE
    Bum Jersey card
Ian Kennedy GOLD jersey card /99
    Refractors CESPEDES Halladay
    Bunch of chrome

oh and these, one from a rack, one from a blaster:

So I picked up 4 more blasters from walmart a couple days ago, when I went to check out, the girl only rang up 3. Since that was all I bought, I quickly realized and told her so I figured I had some good karma coming my way. No major hit, but the last blaster was a purple hot box. The box also had a regular chrome and a relic. Retail seems to be fairly decent this year. Through 8 blaster boxes I have the following:
3 Venezuelan black backs (girardi, robertson and NL era league leaders)
4 regular chrome refractors (konerko, harrison, zimmerman and trumbo
    3 chrome (Molina,Prado and Strausburg)
2 clubhouse collection (Dunn and Zimmerman)
    8 purple refractors (Pujols,Price,Wright,Johnson,hernandez,harrison,profar/olt,jackson)

Nothing major in the 8, but overall I think retail has some pretty good value so far. I think out of the 8, only 1 didn't have some kind of 'hit'. This doesn't include the regular sp's. Have to go through them again to see if there are any ssp or variations.

Well I didn't get a mini in my case, or I missed it. I'm betting on the former. I think I used all my mojo on Series 1 Topps. Last 2 rips (Turkey Red and Heritage) have been absolute bombs....

Oh well. It was nice rip. Was my first ever case purchase. And I love trading (are we ready to trade???)...

I am going to put together the base set+SPs. I am crazy but I am going to try keep up my string of SSPs as part of my set. To me that means I need the 6 SSP variations (7 because I want Yu for my team set as well), the 4 Senators, the 25 In Actions, and the 25 color swaps. I'll also do a Chrome Ranger team set, both the regular and the Purple. I have one of the black borders and I really like them too, so I may do that if I can.

Here is everything that I need:
Base: A case better have net me 1-425......
    SPs: 430, 443, 444, 446, 456, 464, 472, 483, 486, and 495
    News Flashback: MLK
Memorable Moments: MT, PF, and YD x2
    Then & Now: Gibson/Verlander
New Age Performers: Billy Butler x2, Kershaw, Price x2, David Wright x2, Kris Medlen, Miguel Cabrera, Mike Trout, Fielder, Cano, and Dickey
    SSPs: 4, 125(2), 325, 335, and 355
    Sentors Variations: 46, 56, 432, and 440
    In Action: 125, 190, 246, 250, 430, 438, 440, 450, 456, 459, 460, 463, 464, 480, and 490
    Color Swap Variation: 80, 90, 100, 125(2), 183, 200, 246, 250, 425, 428, 430, 440, 447, 448, 450, 455, 459, 463, 467, 474, 480, 485, and 490
Chrome: HC9*, HC17, HC29, and HC40* (these are all Rangers)
Purple Chrome Refractors: HC9*, HC17, HC40, HC54, and HC95 (these are all Rangers)
Black Chrome Refractors: HC9, HC17, HC29, HC40, and HC95 (these are all Rangers)
    Venezuelan Black Back: 76, 78, 125 (Portrait), 148, 153, 169, 171, 238, 241, 261, 295, 317, 363, 444, 473, 479, and 482 (these are all Rangers)
    Minis: 125, 444, 473, 479, and 482

went out and bought two more blaster boxes...will break later. Also was lucky, the target vendor was there putting up new stock and got two 2011 A&G, one 2012 A&G and one 2012 Heritage box, all with $11.99 prices....thought that was a good break......al.

I just remembered my favorite 1964 Topps card:

How awesome would a remake of the AL Bombers card have been with Robinson Cano, Prince Fielder, Curtis Granderson (or AROD) and Miguel Cabrera?

you know you were born under the right star when 3 packs in a hobby box don't contain any 'hits'. unless topps considers 402, 407, 411, sps. thanks topps.

    << <i>

<< <i>went out and bought two more blaster boxes...will break later. Also was lucky, the target vendor was there putting up new stock and got two 2011 A&G, one 2012 A&G and one 2012 Heritage box, all with $11.99 prices....thought that was a good break......al. >>

Funny, I just got home from target and found 1 Heritage blaster and (2) 2011 Topps Chrome and 1 2012 Bowman Chrome blasters at $11.99 each couldn't resist them at $1.50 a pack.

    Joe >>

I also did this! Bought two heritage 2013 Blaster boxes but also bought up everything they had baseball wise that was marked down to 11.99. I then went to every Target in the area and bought the rest that they had also. hehe

can't go wrong....the four boxes I bought for $11.99 are sitting calling my name, I'm trying to get to about 6 tonight so I can go lay down and get some sleep....I work nights so if I can get to 6 I can save them until tomorrow.....

Amen to that. I picked up a 2011 A&G, some football draft cards, and some racing cards at the 11.99 price while looking for Heritage. Nothing special in the packs, though I did hit a Josh Beckett relic, 4 FB autos, and a racing relic that's still in a boxed set.

Picked up a few more packs at Target. That decision panned out for me:

Cory, printing plates were not inserted in this product. I'm not sure why Topps doesn't do so. It would certainly add more value to the break.
