That happens to be when I sip whiskey while surfing.
Numismatic bibliomania is a serious condition too. Lately, I have been getting a dirty look every time another book box shows up. I'm concerned that my numismatic library may suddenly be moved to a stall next to one of my wife's dressage horses, or a cot with an engraved invitation may show up there.

He who hesitates is lost...but unless you are bidding on one of the incredible rarities...most coins or their brother come around again...
My personal approach has to been to buy first and think later...I have no issue selling a newly purchased coin within weeks or months if I made a rash decision...

Not to be intentionally difficult, but one of the smartest things I did was pass on a coin that was all there for the grade which I could afford.
I was offered a solid for the grade 1896 Liberty Nickel in a PC 6 holder. Later that same day, for the same money, I discovered I could buy an really sold for the grade 1817 Capped Bust Half in a PC 4 holder. Although I had been chasing Liberty Nickels in this grade for over a decade, passing on the nickel was a no-brainer to me.

Sometimes a zombie thread pops up, and I look to see what i wrote the 1st time, and check to whether it's still true. This one is more so-- one coin bought last month was the 1st in almost 2 years.
I recently picked up a piece I totally adore after a several month dry spell and it has me thinking and reflecting a little right now. Basically I’m really stoked again and my interest piqued and motivated by that, I’ve been looking around for other pieces lately at my favorite/usual places to see what else is out there at the moment.
I feel I can see a pattern forming because inevitably while looking around I will find something I like and I’ll therefore start buying until I have the spending reality check on the coin situation. This is where my buying appetite on price sort of wanes and therefore the choices diminish and nothing gets added for a while and then I stop looking so hard. Then once I reload and some time passes, it feels good to pull the trigger again and the process sort of starts over and I go on a run until it eventually gases out.
I have not purchased a coin in a few months...No reason other than the right one has not come along... Could be that today is the day.... Cheers, RickO

Recently, I've been having the other condition mentioned by @RYK: Cannotstoppullingthetriggeritis. Picked up one yesterday via Heritage. Deciding on one today.

!878 7TF Reverse of 1879 $1 PCGS PR64. The coin has never reappeared publicly since 1995. Probably one of the coins in the current PCGS Registry of Morgan Dollar Proof sets.

Well, I have received no fewer than four unsolicited offers to gut what is left of my collection.
Ugh, it raises its ugly head again. Did not pull trigger, and now coin is gone.

I've had this affliction and have regretted it every single time.
Rarely, do I regret a coin that I HAVE purchased.
So now, I buy no matter what with the thought that, if I change my mind, I can sell later to recoup most or all of my money.
