I know this will be very distressing for erik but the Cavs are losing mainly because of poor shooting and not good Raptor defense. in the first quarter and early second I believe Cleveland missed 6-7 easy lay-ups under/in front of the hoop. that's ridiculous. also frustrating for erik must be the way that James controls the ball, draws the defense to him and then will pass to the open man. that's what brought the score close, open shots from the arc.
Derozan is amazing for the Raptors, very quick and a dead shot. the game changed a little when Cleveland started to double him --- and --- the Cavs drove the lane and started to pressure the Raptors into fouling. that will open the game for Cleveland, or should.
am I the only one who can't understand why Barkley hates Lebron James so much?? he is such a douche-bag.
--- I hate to say it, erik, but the difference at the half is free throws!!
Had to run out for a bit and I'll be lucky to maybe catch the end of the game later on.
with free throws being so vital the Cavs are now in the bonus with 5:26, should affect the game. watch for some iso-ball with Lebron in the lane and Thompson posted, someone in the corner for a three.
Quite a pleasant surprise. I expected Cleveland to be a bit tired after the Pacer series and Toronto to be ready and eager. I thought game two would be critical as I expected a fairly easy win for Toronto. Game two is still critical but for the Raptors not the Cavs.
that was some kind of a weird, stupid play. I've seen guys get sucker punched like that and go down like a rock, Derozan is a tough dude!! how many steps did Love take, three??
this was a really great game for ANY fan and I am being honest when I say if the Cavs had lost I wouldn't have been angry. disappointed for sure, but not really mad. the only downside for the Cavs was the play of Kevin Love and the continued ball handling miscues by Clarkson. for Toronto, it would have to be those misses by Valencuenas(sp) which might just be because he was gassed. he didn't have the same lift off the floor.
all these guys, the starters especially, from both Teams have got to be dog-tired. this was a hard game, fast at points and physical at points. if it was me, I'd want some sleep and a little time in the sauna.

when is the last time the Cavs had a dispersion like this?
James - 26
Smith - 20
Korver - 19
Green - 16
Thompson - 14
Love shot like crap but had 13 boards
the supporting cast finally showed up and they actually looked like a team tonight. they weren't dependent on the best player on the planet and that is what allowed them to pull off a huge road W. we talk about things not showing up in the box score? yeah, well i saw a hell of a lot of hustle plays late in the game from a team that should have been gassed and that aided the outcome.

All i want out of these playoffs is the C's young players getting as much big game experience as possible. With no Brown that means Tatum,Rozier,Smart & Ojeleye have to step their game up even more.
Cavs and Raptors are really shooting well, each at about 55% which is ridiculous. it's been a good game and they are only separated by two points, which begs the question: Why do the douche-bag announcers seem to be "rooting" for Toronto?? aren't they supposed to be impartial moderators?? they seem like they have a stake in the Raptors winning.

As I watch the Cavs/Raptors........I wonder how they (raptors) were the #1 seed??? All of the teams left look better than them.
They have two Star players, a deep bench and usually play pretty good defense. That's enough to keep them at/near the top of the East. I also think beating Lebron in the playoffs is in their head at this point. the Cavs have knocked them out two years in a row and if they lose tonight its probably gonna be a short series.
the Cavs started to play some really tight defense right before the Half. both Teams were shooting incredibly well and Cleveland came out after the break and were still hot. once they got the lead at 69-63 and the Raptors took a time-out I think the end script was written.
Cleveland appeared to change their approach on offense at that point and switched from Love at the post to Lebron at the post. once he started hitting those fade-away shots I think the Raptors waited too, too long to double Team Lebron and his shots, some of them just stupid ridiculous, kept falling. the problem was that he had killed them with his passes in the first half so I think they assumed that would keep happening.
the Cavs also seemed to dominate the defensive glass like they didn't in Game 1 so the Raptors didn't have as many second opportunities if they missed. the Cavs could then run a little and got points off that.
as much as the Cavs seemed to dominate this game I remain cautious --- Cleveland isn't that good and the Raptors aren't that bad, at least that's what I think. Lebron has the knack to do what he did tonight and the Raptors can't match that. it has been nice in both games that he is getting help, the rest of the Team has arrived.

Great win! Was looking pretty bleak early in that game but they made one helluva a comeback. It was huge getting a 2-0 lead heading to Philly, I don't think we've seen the real Ben Simmons run & gun offense yet and those games will be much tougher for Boston. All in all though a good night for the Celtics.

I went to be before half-time, feeling it would be a fight with the 76'ers winning, only to see Boston recovered and climbed out of a deep hole to win. amazing!! as I said after Game 1, I thought the winner of Game 2 would win the series so it looks to me like Boston will play in the East Finals.
I didn't see any stats but Jaylen Brown looked healthy enough to contribute to the win. when he recovered that loose ball and slammed it home he appeared to test his leg and really scrapped after that. my hometown Red Raider Terry Rozier had another good game.
the real test will be for Boston to win on the road. looking at the pattern that has been set thus far in the semis, the Cavs will finish early and get some rest while the Celtics have to scrap and go 6-7 games.
I'm not saying that will happen, but that's how it's played out thus far.
I see you're already claiming ownership of Rozier lol. You must've just missed the comeback it started with about 6 mins left in the 2nd quarter and they get it down to 5 before the half, then kept it going throughout the 2nd half. It was a huge win for them taking it on the road.
What was really weird was Ben Simmons pretty much checking out mentally for this game. He finished with one point scored and the Sixers backup PG McConnell played a large portion of the second half with Simmons on the bench. It was definitely odd.
not really with Rozier, I just thought it was pretty cool and I was surprised that no mention had been made of it. perhaps I just missed it. oddly, we had a young man in the store yesterday, maybe 21-22, and we were taking BB and the games on in the evening. I mentioned Rozier, like he's my new known factoid, and the guy finished my sentence, "..................yeah, he went to Shaker Hts." so it is possible I live on my own Island.
it's sort of funny that both games last night took a turn prior to the half and ended sort of the same. I imagine it got loud in Boston, did they ride Simmons with the "Not a Rookie!!" chant at all?? they were on him in that first game and it appears his youth and inexperience is showing. to be honest, I don't know how some of these guys are able to shut that stuff off and rise above it.
I'm not too sure about the chant,he only took 2 free throws last night so the fans might have held off on chanting it.
Someone posted this on twitter and its making its way around all the Boston sites:

Rodman’s bony azz lead the league in rebounding 7 years in a row as well as making 1st Team all Defensive in the same span. This argurablely in the most physical era of the NBA. He had mad mad mad hops

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
He sure knew how to get under other players skin.
well, this is surprising.
