I don't like it. Maybe it's just the cleaning and the lighting in the photos, but it looks off to me.

I could not make a guess as to authenticity based just upon the photographs with that much polishing damage to the coin.

If I were looking at gold coins - show or shop or internet - I would immediately skip this one... cleaning for sure, authenticity questionable...Cheers, RickO

I'm 99% positive (from the image) that the coin is a COUNTERFEIT. I've never seen a genuine with the tail polished out.
Good catch. I agree.

I didn't like it. The bright mint surfaces are not the frosty finish that appears on the original coins. My vote is counterfeit from the luster and the lack of detail on the high points.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I do not like to grade coins from pictures and I would not want to condemn a coin from a picture either. You might want to have it inspected by some dealers in your area for their in hand opinion as to authenticity. but a lot of forum members have a very good nose for bad Kodachrome........

What the heck is it? How about photos of the obverse and reverse? Any why are you holding it improperly?
it's a $10 indian gold. it's a good idea to buy these graded because many are cleaned
Sorry thought I added 3 photos. A friend had this in his fathers collection. To me it appears fake but I'm no expert n
Elynn, sorry to inform you, but your $10 gold was cleaned
Too bad, nice coin.
it's worth about 675 in that condition, melt
We thought it might be fake
it's the real deal
Thank you coinpalice for taking a look.
Do I see chocolate under that gold?
Seriously though Im not sure how anyone can declare a coin genuine so definitively. What are your concerns?

Yup looks off to me as well. The stars on the edge in the first picture look like they shift right off the coin.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

It could still be gold.

It is.
Looks to me that also too much of the eagle's right "ankle" is exposed?
I would not be a buyer.
