What is your opinion of the MAC sticker designation and the accuracy thereof?

Like CAC, I have recently come across another service called MAC (modern approved coin) which stickers slabs also. Has anyone had any experience with this company and also I want to know if their grading standards are viable or just as good as a CAC designation. Any and all info about MAC would help. As is, I have a newly acquired pcgs graded coin with the MAC sticker so I was just curious. Thanks !!!!!

Are they will to make an offer on the coins that they sticker?

    @Coinstartled .....
I checked out the site and they do have a price guide for MAC stickered coins, if that's what you are referring to .......

What I am referring to is that CAC maintains bid prices on the coins that they sticker. Is MAC willing to buy the coin from you at a fair market price. If not, the sticker does not mean much.

So, he buys coins from me, mac stickers them, and resells for higher price. What do you think CAC dealers do?

This is only true for products bought directly from the mint that come in plastic capsules or plastic cases. Not true for business strike moderns that come from the bank or are found in circulation.

I don't typically buy/sell moderns so I'm not too familiar with MAC & QA. Can someone tell me the difference? I've talked to James about QA and he says they pick up where CAC leaves off (moderns with some crossover like IKEs) but if MAC has already been doing that, stickering moderns, what's QA doing that MAC does not? (I can say that I have seen far more QA sticker than MAC stickers at shows etc)

The coveted one is the "MAC 'N' CHEESE" sticker-to-your-ribs one. ;)

I don't give a banana's peel for any of the stickers; just more junk to confuse collectors and pump prices.

This is insane - throw money away on stickering? A mod service lol. Crazy....

    Have you heard:
Bullion is trading in a narrow range and the bids in the sheet are mostly stagnant while the pop of collectors declines. Many in my coin club are wanting to liquidate before market declines further. Others drowning in cc debt have not recovered from the oil price crash - after 55 they want push u out! One fellow wants find cc default lawyer.....

No No No - not gonna throw money away on stickering!

It seems modern coins don't get much respect here. I wonder if coin collectors felt the same way about US coins in the 1790's.

First MAC problem I see is that 2 price lists are offered, NGC MAC and PCGS MAC. John Albanese doesn't care which of 2 holders they are in.

But the market does and there is a pricing disparity even among CAC stickered coins based on the plastic holder.

I wish. Unfortunately plastic and stickers (or a lack thereof) can have negative value even on sight seen purchases. It makes little sense to me. It does allow for cherry picks though.

I see no evidence of it. A sister company (or otherwise closely affiliated dealership) deals heavily with them, but I haven't seen anyone else seek out a MAC coin. I would put them in the "who cares category?" In my view NTC is to coin grading what MAC is to CAC.

I'd like to see this too.

I also maintain a guaranteed bid price for all graded silver dollars. Sticker or not: $2
