I also think a play should not be overturned unless it is clearly and incorrectly called on the field. That is how replay was first implemented. The Clement TD was too close in any case to meet that standard.

I use the halftime show to make a snack.

That must be some kind of epic snack. You could defrost a side of beef during a Super Bowl halftime

What a game. Foles has to be the best backup QB ever.

Well there was Earl Morrow for the Baltimore Colts back in the day, but yea, you're right!

Steve Young backing up Joe Cool was no slouch, either.

The difference is Young didn't play until Joe went to KC.

Of course. But until then, he was the backup QB in SF.

Disappointing outcome but Eagles deserved to win. Eagles defense made one stop when they needed to, Pats defense did not. Thought benching Butler and Pats decision to try a field goal instead of go for it on 4th and one near the goal line in the second quarter were the two questionable coaching decisions in the Super Bowl that had the biggest impact.
Can't really understand the Butler benching especially when it became clear what they were doing on D wasn't working. The replay calls could have gone either way but Pats had so many other opportunities, had a late lead and had the ball with just over 2 minutes left, that they didn't decide the game.

Brady played great but Pats defense looked like the one that got roasted the first 4 games of the season. Not sure Detroit is really going to be happy with Patricia as coach.

@stevek Congrats on the win to you and all Eagles fans here :(

Thank you - I really appreciate that!

are you a card guy or coin guy?

I deeply enjoy both, collect nothing else, and I have done that my whole life. It sort of ebbs and flows as to which I place more emphasis on. Right now I've just had the itch to put together a collection of PCGS 64 & 65 Indian cents...proof when I can afford it. Always looking to upgrade my 1962 Topps set at any time.

Get ready for a ton of Eagles SB cards & memorabilia for the next year. That was my favorite part of all of NE's SB wins. Maybe we see a round 3 for these two a year from now.

I hadn't given any thought to the card aspect of it until your post. I'm sure this will cost me some money - LOL

When I see a Nick Foles PSA/DNA certified autograph card for this season, I wouldn't mind paying $50 for it. And I know that years from now it will probably be worth less than ten bucks, but I don't care. :)

It was nice to see a game where the refs were not the story with one controversial call after another. Players made the outcome of the game

Would have loved to see my Pats get another ring, but the Eagles looked great out there. Great game no matter what!

Its definitely gonna cost you some money but its totally worth it. You probably lucked out a bit too that it was Foles who won not Wentz. I haven't checked out Wentz card prices but i bet they're considerably higher than Foles. Its a shame that Topps isn't producing football cards anymore,in my opinion they always had the best SB themed Autos & game used football/pylons/jerseys cards out there. They were always my favorites and i tried collecting one great auto from the best players on each Pats SB team. It will probably take me years to get the ones i want.

    Anyways enjoy the win!

I don't collect "modern" much. However in the spring, I always buy 1 or a few of those $19.95 new card bundles which they say could contain an autograph card, etc. Unfortunately, I never get one, but it's still fun to see the new card style and everything else for the new year.

However with the Eagles being Super Bowl champs, it changes my perspective, and I plan on putting together a number of autographed cards for this team.

You're right - The Wentz card will still sell for considerably more than the Foles card, even though Foles was the winning Super Bowl QB. It's still way early, but Wentz has a legitimate chance to one day be a Hall of Fame prospect. No disrespect to Nick Foles, but he will never be Hall of Fame material, not even close. So of course the autograph card values are basically predicated on that.

Maybe there might be some malcontent Eagles player who signs 5 autograph cards, then decides he doesn't want to do that any more ever the rest of his life, and those 5 autographs wind up being worth thousands of dollars - LOL. I wouldn't be buying that card, but it'll be fun to put together a set of players for this winning Super Bowl team, which I think will be able to be done at a reasonable price.

I realize there are a number of Eagles fans with deep pockets who can afford almost if not every card they want. Money is no object to them. If there are some limited edition, hard to find, Eagles cards coming, considering the enthusiasm of Eagles fans winning this first Super Bowl, it will be quite interesting to see how the card prices fluctuate.

I wouldn't put this loss solely on Patricia. The CBs couldn't cover anyone last night(Butler might have helped but i think that was a Belichik decision not Patricia's),the safeties weren't much better although i think Chung played most of that game hurt. The DL & LBs got no pass rush(zero sacks & just 5 QB hits) and they couldn't stop Blount & Ajayi from gaining 6yds per carry. I'm sure they made halftime adjustments but the defense played horrible in the second half so who knows what those adjustments were.
I do think Patricia is a great DC but we'll have to wait and see how he looks as a HC in Detroit. There have been rumors that LB coach Brian Flores would replace Patricia as DC but i just came across this article saying Greg Schiano is the new DC next year. This probably means Flores is gonna leave too with Patricia & McDaniels both needing to fill their coaching staffs with guys they trust.\
Between Butler not playing, possibly Gostkowski getting replaced, the Gronk is contemplating retirement rumors, the whole Brady/Belichick/Kraft/Garoppolo/Guerrero drama and all of the coaching staff vacancies about to happen its gonna be a looooong offseason in NE.

@stevek I don't buy & bust any packs and the only football cards i've been buying are for my Pats SB run of autographs. I plan on someday making some kind of display for all of the cards i collected. I try finding one or two SB related cards i like of a certain players then try to get them autographed at different Pats players signing events.
I'd say keep an eye on Fanatics Authentics,i got these 2 Pats SB heroes from them not long after the SB wins

I bet they'll have some great Eagles SB memorabilia real soon, here is a link to their site:

Also you might like Panini Instant,i bet they start selling special Eagles SB team sets within the next week. I've bought most of their Pats SB sets. Here's a link to their site if you're interested.
