As I predicted, if Foles had a good game, the underdogs would be the over dogs!
I would not have been sad if the Patriots had won #6, it's great to see the Eagles win #1!

I deeply enjoy both, collect nothing else, and I have done that my whole life. It sort of ebbs and flows as to which I place more emphasis on. Right now I've just had the itch to put together a collection of PCGS 64 & 65 Indian cents...proof when I can afford it. Always looking to upgrade my 1962 Topps set at any time.

Well there was Earl Morrow for the Baltimore Colts back in the day, but yea, you're right!

Get ready for a ton of Eagles SB cards & memorabilia for the next year. That was my favorite part of all of NE's SB wins. Maybe we see a round 3 for these two a year from now.

Nick Foles played magnificently. It's not all that surprising. Just a few years ago, he had a spectacular season for the Eagles, then he went into the tank for some reason, then bounced around to a few teams before coming back to the Eagles as a backup.
There is no QB controversy in Philly, Carson Wentz is expected back for the Eagles first game next season as the starter. However i think, especially after this Super Bowl win, and Wentz is prone to injury, that Foles will stay with the Eagles as a very well paid backup.
Im reminded of Earl Morrall for the undefeated '72 Dolphins.... Griese went down early in the season and Earl took over for the bulk load .... I wonder what happens to Foles...traded? Wentz is certainly Eagles future. Foles has too much value to sit....Eagles need to exploit that value.
epic, epic game. congrats to stevek and kudos to all of gracious NE fans on this board, as i have yet to see anyone mention the clement and ertz TDs. i've been watching nfl games for 40 years and after this season i really have no effing idea what constitutes a catch and what doesn't anymore.

The Philadelphia player was a runner, and he had procession of the ball when it crossed the the goal line. I have no idea what the NBC color guy was talking about, except that he was looking for a way to keep the audience from switching the channel.

Agreed. They ruled the Ertz play correctly. Had he not established himself as a runner by taking a couple of steps, the call likely would have been reversed. That's why the ref made a point of mentioning that on the review.
The Clement play was close but I thought they got that one right, too. It certainly wasn't to the extent where the call on the field should have been reversed, imo.
Overall, I thought the refs did a great job letting the players play, which was a refreshing change from the usual flagfest NFL games have become these days.

Both plays were the right call. I don't blame the refs on the Clement catch when he had 3 Pats defenders right there who couldn't stop the guy from catching that TD. That one was all defense there.
The Ertz play was good concentration on his part for a td.
The Pats defense lost this game not the refs IMHO.
by the letter of the law, yep, they got the Ertz call right. only because he took 3-4 steps and established himself as a runner. otherwise, it's basically the Jesse James incompletion against the Pats a few weeks ago.
the Clement catch I personally would have overturned. my two eyes saw the ball bobble ever so slightly in his hands and once he clamped down on it for good, his left foot was out of bounds.
it's crazy how many fine-line plays we've been exposed to this season and the league is going to have to address this at some point

Yeah i agree they do need to address so many catch aspects but,as a Pats fan, i can't complain about a couple calls like this when NE has been having these type of plays go their way all season. Just wasn't their night tonight.

I saw it the same way on both. All depends on when Clements actually “had “ possession. Regardless the Pats has plenty of chances afterwards. Really didn’t alter who played the better game and who won

Every superbowl half time sucks. Why do they even do anything ? Its plain stupid just stop it. Except prince he was great but , rumor has hit he killed himself to avoid doing another one though.
Comments
And Gronk is a beast!
The Pat's need to play a little defense now.
Big congrats to the Patriots and their fans.
I have no complaints at all. The Eagles were coached well and played well but the Patriots just played better.
Hopefully the Eagles will be back to the Super Bowl sometime soon.
Are you saying it's over? Or are you messing with the Pat's fan's mind's??
Looks like whoever has the ball last.......wins!
It's over. The Eagles cannot possibly win this football game.
I hope you are right, but their chances look pretty good right now.
I've got some chores to do. i think I'll go paint the garage.
Eagles touchdown doesn't matter. Brady and the Patriots are just too good.
Calling that a TD was a slap in the face to Dez. Same exact play! Wow what a shaft to Dez.
ARE THEY KIDDING ME??????????????????????????????????????????
Just one first down...please....i'll never ask for anything else again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Eagles...one little stinking first down....PLEASE...........................
Pats were in this same situation last season.
Never easy........................
Turn out the lights, the party's over........................
