I would be interested in what others have learned about themselves through participation in these contests over the years.
Anyone want to share? Or if you didnt or dont want to share anything personal, have you learned anything about markets, economics, inter-market relationships, individual companies, ect?
I had a great deal of enjoyment running this for 3-4 years. Never really tried to ‘win’ as the chase was better than the catch. Don’t think I ever invested long term real dollars in any of my picks in prior years, but would have to check that.

Quite a change. Thank you for the update.
btw, what does MTD vs SPY mean again?
Month to date change
Vs
S&P 500 index ETF (SPY) month to date change

Once the melt up began to correct down in February I added a comparison to the 500 to demonstrate the issues with arbitrary comparisons to an index.
I’ve learned that if I’d paid a little closer attention to the markets, I might’ve made a bit more money on my holdings - but that’s just a guess. Paying more attention to the relative values for the various asset classes, combined with a portfolio rebalancing approach does seem to have it’s merits, if you really trust “the system”, which I do not.

Yeah, generally the more confidence you have in whatever you do, the more successful you will be. Applies to everything.

Who asked for a lesson?
Totally just busting chops man, ha!
No lessons....Coaching isn't teaching.
Knowledge is the enemy of fear
So much fail in that statement.
Coaching requires a great deal of participation from those being coached, whereas teaching requires virtually no participation.
I think thats a HUGE difference.
Generally one who is successfully coached will have a much deeper understanding.
Knowledge is the enemy of fear
Coaching is most definitely embarking a lesson on how to better oneself through self teaching with practice. You missed your own statement.

Only 3 people above the initial investment. Sad. Must be a lesson here.
