Provident

With all the talk of the metals markets being soft right now, I'm surprised that a recent order from Provident is taking forever to be processed. E-Check on 12/07/17 echeck cleared 12/10, order still being " processed on 12/20....

why i shop with dbscoins, APMEX and MCM

I go to MCM first.
I would call them. I’ve not had a problem with Provident but within 24 hours of the money leaving my account, I would call to prompt them.
With provident sometimes it's what you bought. I've had to wait on them a few times as stock was in-limbo. Always got it but the delay is annoying.
Any delay from a bullion dealer in a stagnant market is a warning sign. Period. How big was the order?
I knew it would happen.
Got the shipping info this morning all is well I guess.

I hope so. Just understand that in my dealings with both Northwest Territorial Mint and with Tulving, there were clear warning signs before they went south. Delayed delivery is a major warning sign.
I was lucky. Others weren't.
OTOH, if it was a small order for relatively obscure items, that's probably a different story.
Same thing happened with Silver Bullet/Silver Shield on an order I had with them a few years back. They had internal conflicts going on that made me really nervous. I've never ordered from them again, because of the delivery issues.
I knew it would happen.
I've always had good dealings with Provident. I'm guessing that with all the pre-Christmas specials they were inundated with orders.

They're probably just trying to catch up on affixing those silly compass star things to each and every one of the products before the shipments

Same issue here.
Order date December 11 and I sent a check out the same day. It's still in "processing payment" status.
Looks like the Christmas PM gift rush to me..... Cheers, RickO
It probably related to seasonal items, but I'd still keep a sharp eye on it for the time being. Maybe this thread could track Provident orders for awhile. I've never had a problem with them either. Just sayin'.
I knew it would happen.
Well in case anyone is wondering my order arrived this morning safe and sound...
But 12/7-12/23 is a bit long to wait for bullion........

Ugh, I am in "confirmed payment" mode still. I still have to wait for "Order processing" and then finally "Order shipped."
If I am lucky, I will get my order in a month
Even with the holidays, I can't find any good excuses that would take a month to receive a product.
Just wait till you place an order, for an item available, from the UK Royal Mint. You'll be lucky to get it within a month. Never had a problem with Provident and hope I never will. APMEX, JM & PROVIDENT, when they have "a sale" are my go to places. On eBay: baypreciousmetals, bullion.exchanges & MCM.
@ChrisRx
Dec 11? Has the check cleared out of your bank? If so, give them a call. You shouldn’t HAVE to but sometimes....
I sent echeck on the 19th, cleared 21st. I will give them til tomorrow to ship before I call.
Just got email showing shipped
Oh it's cleared alright. Starting to wonder if they are stalling due to not having the inventory. Well at least I learned my lesson, I'll stick with the other guys from now on.
Nobody likes echecks , just do a bank wire from the account the echeck is coming from anyway .
As a seller on ebay I find them reliably annoying and the one time I used one as a buyer , it showed pending for 2 weeks and no one would give me a straight answer what the hold up was. Seller wouldn't ship until it went through.
I always thought an E-check was like a money wire as far as the banks were concerned ?

I don't know that all wires adhere to a standard but most seem to go much faster than 5 days. I remember doing bullion deals with a guy and we both had bank of america accounts and the money was appearing in the same day in the receivers account with no fee.
Yes, bank wire are best (especially if same bank) but I'm not spending $2,000 at a time. Just over $99 to get the free shipping.
FWIW, I just looked back and since March 2016, I have used echeck 7 times with Provident. Only once was it over 7 days from payment sent to delivery. That one time was this past Thanksgiving, took 11 days.
Ordered on 19th , received 28th.
Nice looking 1.5oz falcons.
Day 20, still not shipped. Sent them a message, interested in the excuse.
Yow! You are far more patient than I am. There's no excuse for 20+ days.
May I ask: what did you order?
Small order of 90%
Well, I hope it’s not an inventory issue. I just placed an order for $10 face of 90%. Just under spot with the “merry5” coupon.
I used the merry5 coupon on that 10 different peace dollars deal. I have a whitman peace dollar book with 3 coins in it I should be able to fill 7 holes at the least. Maybe they will send a 21 and a 28
Well? Don’t keep us in suspense!
My order, dated January 1, paid via e-check, is being mailed out today. I have a tracking #. Obvious CR may have issues with his order or account. Suggest you call them to find out what is going on.
As of today (day 24):
January 4, 2018 at 2:43 pm
SHIPMENT RECEIVED, PACKAGE ACCEPTANCE PENDING
DALLAS, TX 75248
@ChrisRx
Did you ever call and ask for an explanation?
My order from Dec 31 is “processing”
I got an email with an apology (with zero reasons as to what's taking so long) and that they strive to ship packages in 1-5 business days (mine will arrive January 8th according to tracking.... nearly a month later...)
That my friend is a " don't bother me, I don't give a shit " answer....

Yup, pretty much. Again, I am easy going and wouldn't mind so much except for the fact that I had to reach out to them as I felt they didn't really care either.
My order from 12/28 hasn't shipped . Not worried about it but its slower than typical . Usually I get an email in 2 days or so saying its shipped
Now updated and should arrive Monday, Jan 8
My order from 1/1....arrived 1/6....can't complain.
Ordered Dec 31, arrived today, January 8. $10 face of Washington quarters.
We'll I placed another e-check order yesterday 1/8/18
We will see how this one goes.

Says delivered in p.o. box today.
I will check it out tomorrow.
Wow. That is the slow boat from China.
12/28 order shipped out today , I put in another order for $20 in 90% halfs
News flash! Order arrived! Only took 29 DAYS.
WOW That is totally unacceptable. !!!!!!!!!!!

Still no information from Provident as to what is going on?
Staying quiet when significant and uncharacteristic service disruptions are occurring is asking for rumors and for customers to get scared off.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I just ordered four chilly silver polar bears so I will let you know if it takes longer than 29 days to arrive.
