Still no information from Provident as to what is going on?

Staying quiet when significant and uncharacteristic service disruptions are occurring is asking for rumors and for customers to get scared off.

It seems to have been an isolated incident. The few others that have posted seem to have had reasonable processing times.
My experience with Provident would be positive and I would recommend them.

News flash! Order arrived! Only took 29 DAYS.

WOW That is totally unacceptable. !!!!!!!!!!!

I have a different outlook on it. If I'm buying bullion to sock away for 10 or 20 years as long as I still trust the company I don't sweat the shipping time.

I put an order in on the 28th it shipped today on the 10th it arrived today on the 16th. !0 different dates and mints of peace dollar and the stuff looks pretty good.

I have to disagree about it being ok to take a month. With that logic, why not take a few months? Or, since you plan on a 10-20 year hold, why not wait 5 years for delivery? You see where this is going...

Just because I am in no rush to sell doesn't make it ok to take your sweet time with my $.

I didn't say a month was okay I just said I wasn't worried. I waited 2 weeks or so around the holidays it didn't bother me .
No one wants an e check ever so to discourage that they put a black mark next to your order so even after the thing cleared you won't do it again.

What is the point of disagreeing with my post by clicking disagree and also quoting it and disagreeing with what I said ? One or the other will suffice :D

Why do you guys buy 90% online? Do you not have good local coins shops to go to or what? Just curious. I'm lucky enough to have a friendly LCS with a decent selection and a pawn shop with 90% at melt...but the ASE's are usually spot +5 so I load up when there are deals on the forum(s) or online dealers.

Got this for melt from the pawn shop last time I stopped by a few weeks ago. Has a coffee can full of 90% and I just dump it out and pick through it. Found 5-6 T1 SLQ's and the sterling clip among some other good "junk".

@ShadyDave My answer to your second question (No.) explains WHY I buy 90% online. No coin shops to speak of and the pawn shops are ridiculous. High premiums and sales tax on bullion makes it too pricy to buy local.

The problem was that it took a month and I got zero updates approaching the one month mark. Just a courtesy email with an explanation would've been good enough for me.

How do you judge melt value on a coin with a hole in it? :D

    Weight x .90 x silver price= melt

Thanks for the explanation. Seems weird as 90% seems to Ben the most plentiful form of silver....but then again, I can't buy an ASE for a reasonable price by me.

Pretty much ANY bullion is stupid priced around here. Easily $5+ over spot for any govt silver.
And selling is no better. I offered the high end pawn a couple rolls of SAE and a roll of Britannia’s and was offered spot on both. “No demand for them” was the exact response.
I will continue to use Provident and others. Maybe someday I’ll get a legit response to my CL ad.

I received my machine bearings from provident in under two weeks. They look more like silver polar bears to me, though.

They had sold out when I went to order some.

The silver polar bears are back at about a buck over spot.

For your consideration, order placed for $10 of 90%junk silver and 5 random 1oz silver bars on Feb 6. Received on Feb 20. I believe that is the fastest Provident delivery out of about 20 orders or so.....thanks...rln

I think an enterprising company should start making live silver ammo.
