I'm Just curious, if you care to say...are coins a hobby or your profession?

One recent OT post asked members where they were located. We live all over the place (even in outer space); yet thanks to this site many of you have made friends who share your passion. I'm glad to expand my knowledge and grading skills here too. Now, I'm curious about those I'm learning from besides the many experts we all know.
So, if you dare, are you a currently employed professional numismatist or a collector. For how many years?
Thanks!
I'm especially interested in members I interact with.

Hobbyist since 1967. Never stopped collecting in all that time, but didn't have a lot of funds before 1975.
I might shoot a commercial duck if it were a 100% sure thing.

Childhood collector in the 1960s. Got back into coin collecting in 1983. Somewhere along the line I became a Numismatist, researcher, and author. I have been a Professional Numismatist / Dealer for the last four years. My hobby became my profession, but I still collect!

Coin collecting has been my closest hobby, shooting is a close second.
Just a hobby to keep me out of trouble. If I break even in the long run, I figure I did very well.
Collector since 1969.
First show set up 1977.
Stopped collecting 1992, only been buying/selling since then.
Coins are still my passion though (well, one of them at least).
Collector. I sell a little but not much.
Collector since 1961.
Casual collector since 1961

Ex Collector, Mercury Dimes, that is now buying coins for my Grand Daughters. Almost all purchases are off Ebay and Raw. Rolling the Dice I guess you could say. Still get to enjoy the coins for probably 10 more years. Do sell stuff that I do not like but certainly not a dealer.

It has been both. I just hope that have not too dumb as a collector in recent years so that I won't be totally buried in the future. I have paid some strong money for some prime collectors' items.

Hobby business; I try to keep the focus there and aim for win/win situations, not win/lose or pulling anything over on others.

I'm at 53 years as a collector with lots of great professional friends that help keep me on a straight path.
Same here! Hobbyist ....started with my paper route in grade school, and then again since 2003... 14 years.
I would never have guessed a novice collector. Perhaps a modest collector?
I still enjoy coins as a hobby, even though I rely on selling a steady stream of them to make an income. My tastes have had to change a bit as I cannot hold the cool inexpensive things for myself as those are the easiest sales to make.
Collector since the age of 5.
part time dealer since 2005
full time dealer since 2009
I'm 47 today! as of 3 min ago
Happy B-day bud!
I am in my early 30s, a passionate collector, spent good money ($100k+) on my coins. I do shoot coins, a lot. I have produced probably a good 2000+ professional coin photos, posters, videos and GIFs. Love coins and physics.
Collector since 1968.
eBay since 1998.
Never made money ( well....maybe a few times) so I guess I'm a collector.
I always come back to coins no matter what hobby I'm interested in at the current moment, coins are always in the back of my mind for some reason.
Both.
