My 1901 S Barber quarter finally filling the last hole.

So after 14 1/2 years of gathering together Barber quarters I finally found what I think is a fitting finishing touch. I've been on the lookout for the '01 S for a few years now. Graded by our hosts as Good 4... Tell me what you think, if you were handing out beans would this one deserve it?

See ??? Now, I like that coin, honest wear and circulation handsome original color. I'd say YES, Green Bean.
Nice coin and Congrats
Not an expert on what would get CAC'ed (is that a verb?), but a nice, problem-free G4 there.
A nice looking coin with honest wear and no defects. I know how good it feels to fill that last hole.
In the old days this is an ag coin (rev rim is not full).
Today its a " g", so no sticker.
Sticker or not it is a nice original problem free coin. I like.
Congratz on getting that tough date! No sticker is my opinion.
Congrats!!!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Nice coin with honest wear.
G4 grade is accurate but the reverse rim wear may preclude a sticker. Not a bad coin for the grade as it looks original.
I like it and CAC will too. Congrats!!
That's a solid G-4 old days or new! I give it the Bean! Almost all the key date S mints are weak on the Rev rims. If a 13-S isn't you can rest assured it is counterfeit!
Great looking piece of original circ silver. congrats on filling that last hole, must feel really good.
That's a great accomplishment. Love the last piece, the ultimate Barber stopper. Congrats!
Dave
LOL! I figured I would get a disagree from KollectorKing! Aint it fun!
Thanks for all the compliments and congratulations... @amwldcoin Very true about the reverse of the 13S for sure. @Justacommeman Thanks for chiming in even though this is a CAC thread in a way. After looking at lots of this date, this one is the one that finally just felt right. I will wait for assessments before I disclose if this example has the bean or not.
Circulated coins have character. Your coin is a perfect example of a coin doing what it was made to do..........circulate.
Pete
I like it. I would rather have a nice coin like this with honest wear than the ugly MS62 for $37k in the other thread!
Congratulations.
It's the one I'm looking for, too.
I would love to have a coin like that for my collection.
Everything is all right!
When I first started collecting, I used the Brown and Dunn grading guide and an older edition of James Ruddy's Photograde. For those disagreeing with @KollectorKing, a few decades ago G-4 coins had to have full rims so the comment about the reverse rim wasn't out of left field. With that said, I find the full rim criteria somewhat arbitrary and am glad modern standards have adjusted. I have no problem with this as a G4 today, and I think CAC will like it too. I seem to recall seeing stickered better dates in G4 with a similar rim situation.
Im sure that it is a great feeling to fill that last hole. Congrats!
Latin American Collection
Very nice coin, I love the look.
Irrelevant if it has a sticker or not.
It's a solid G04-G05.....no sticker needed to tell you that it's nice.
Congratulations! I still do not have one. I have all the other dates, just not that one.
Agreed, that is one of the fastest ways to check the '13 S.
I have seen two in dealers' cases that did not 'check out' thru the rims.
BHNC #203
Nice color and surfaces!

Here's another way to look at it! If these had to have a full rim to grade G-4 there would be no G-4's! You would go from AG to VG because all I've seen with a full rim reverse grade VG. That's true with several Barber 1/2 date's as well!
It is a great feeling when one completes a series... Congratulations.... nice old coin... I have no idea if it will get a sticker..... but I give it the three Cheers sign.....Cheers, RickO
The coin does have a green sticker. Thanks again for all the compliments. You know you guys are the only ones that understand what it's like to be one of us, and I just had to share with you all. It's not like you can just show something like this to just anyone because they would just say something like: "Oh, so that's a quarter, hmmm why is it so worn out?"
A self acknowledging non expert here....but as a G-4 I would think it would CAC

Here's a new school 01-S to compare to the OP's coin! Definitely an AG back in the day!
If that one was saying "buy me"... I would not have been listening.
Do you really believe the standards for coins (even circulated coins) have remained the same for 31 years? Circulated coins, particularly key dates, have seen upward curves.
Someone show me an 01-S that grades G4 in a rattler with a full reverse rim!
This is what a good 01-s looks like:

One more:

I'll buy these all day long.
LOL! Net graded for scratches if that's a G4! It has VG details!
SUPERB 01 S!!! Congratulations on completing this series.
Nice looking coin! Congratulations!

Great looking example!, congrats on the final hole!
I think it's a 3.85
But its eye appeal is 4++
Since you added a 2nd coin I will just say they are both turds IMHO! I like original mark free coins myself! I would also take the OPer's coin hands down over these 2!
Have any turds for sale...I'm a buyer.
To be honest...I don't buy coins like that unless I have to to get other coins. I'll let you know if I see any!
You do that. I'll be around.
Great coin!!!

OP's coin is an easy bean. The Heritage examples shown down the thread are "typical" G quality and I wouldn't want them in my collection with those scratches. I'd just sell them at auction and let the market decide what to pay.
Buy what you like, but those ones aren't nice ones.
Again, just want to say thanks for the comments and compliments on the coin. It does have the green been and I think deservedly so. Here's a pic that I took and very poor quality but I think it shows better what the coin looks like in hand.
