No as the grading fee is more than the coin is worth.

Why in the world would you want to send in a 2015 Dime. Buy one already graded for a few bucks.

  • ms70ms70 Posts: 13,956 ✭✭✭✭✭

What Dimeman said. It would be cheaper to buy one already graded.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Absolutely no. Minor mint errors/varieties are just that, minor and are not worth the cost of having them slabbed.

    All glory is fleeting.

    I wouldn't.

I agree with all above.. not a coin worth submitting.... you could keep it as an educational item... Cheers, RickO

No. Shipping will cost you more than the coin is worth as an error.

Is there some emotional attachment? Is there something eye appealing that you really. really like that will not be dismissed by a less than expected grade?

    Then Yes!

If you asking from a business perspective? No.

I have submitted coins that cost close to what they are worth, sentimental coins.
but a lot of times it is just as satisfying to place it in a flip or an album.

I would not send any post 1958 Roosevelt Dime to any grading service.

It is possible to have a coin with sentimental value that is not in a holder. You can keep it in an airtite or one of those self-slabs if you are really concerned about safe-keeping.

For some reason, these are quite common especially with 2015-P.
I have had some luck selling really mushy-looking ones with much loss of detail for $3-$5 each.
One was so bad, the date was just a shadow and the mintmark was gone.

  • ECHOESECHOES Posts: 2,974 ✭✭✭✭✭

Thanks for the replies, no sentimental attachment, pulled from circulation.
The way the light hits the coin in the picture makes the legend, date appear much more visible.
Looks to me to be a grease filled die, thought that it might have value worth slabbing as an error coin. Thanks to all for letting me know not to...

Buy and ounce or two of silver instead.
