Interesting that the coin received no bids for the last 2 days....and then a lone "sniper" came in and won it with 6 seconds to go on a $1 snipe. That sniper didn't need any bullets.
I don't necessarily care what it's being called here, what matters is that the TPG's called it AG03 and that's what it's selling it as. You're acting like you don't sell the coin for what it is on the slab.
I've sold a number of coins for a lot less than what the slab grade said they were...because the coins were obviously not graded correctly imo. One time I sold a MS67 pop 1 highest graded seated dime to Wondercoin for a tiny bit above my cost. The coin was a 66 at best with tics all over it.... and I sold it as such up front. Another time I bought a MS65 pop 1 finest known seated half sight-unseen. It was a 64+ and nothing more. I flipped that to Heritage for a 10% profit. If the coin were really a MS65 I'd have asked for 2-1/2X what I paid for it. Lots of times you sell coins for what they really are...not the grade on the holder. It works both up and down too.

Talk about a non-climatic ending. If that qualifies as big money, I am glad I don't have big money!
@boyernumismatics What are you disagreeing with? That $56 IS big money? With-out the shill, the thing would have sold for 20 bucks, or less.
You have nothing better to do than bring up a dead thread. You have some sort of a nasty bias against me now because I said this coin would grade, and it did. There is nothing more to this thread. The coin sold for $56.55. I'd say turning 10 cents into $56.55 ( for you non-math whizzes, that's a 56,450% increase in value), is pretty good in terms of percentage. When's the last time you turned a coin for a 56,450% increase in value? LOL
All joking aside, this thread is dead. Please stop bumping it for your own personal gratification attempts to embarrass me. I used to think you were cool, now you're just being an ***. The fact that you quoted yourself is rather egotistical.
There is nothing to this whole thing besides me getting this coin and having it certified. Against the 99%'s wildest dreams (and mine!!!), it graded. End of story, and goodbye.
Edited to note that @Wabbit2313 would have had to dig up this thread from the graveyard to see that I disliked his comment, because there is no notification of reactions. What a sad life on the internet if that's all he has to do.

If digging a thread up from the dead means from YESTERDAY, yes. Wondering why the chest beater comes and disagrees but says nothing. Did you buy the coin for 10 cents, get free grading, free shipping and free eBay? No.
If you want, I'll post your foolish private messages to me from the other day, then you might remember why I am here to ask you a couple of questions.
"For you non-math whizzes" is your quote. That deserves a special ovation! Here you go!
I posted in this thread yesterday too. Had no idea it was officially "dead." Pardon my ignorance to comment on what the coin brought on Ebay WAY back on June 17th (Friday). Considering this was the OP's thread, and a lengthy one with well over 200 posts, it would be customary to check in one last time following the ending event to update everyone (ie Ebay auction). Give Zoins credit for posting the Ebay ending price action information on Friday.

Not to beat a dead horse but the holder is seriously cool. I must be way out of the loop because that's the first Retro Doily Secure Plus I've seen.
I agree. I do, however, wish that PCGS didn't white out the area surrounding the shield. It's enough for me to consider going non-secure for my US coins with the retro doily label.
I wasn't around for the original discussion if this coin would grade or not. I will say the chip that the OP seemed to have on his shoulder around this situation seemed inappropriate and the thread title itself was annoying to me every time I saw it on the boards.
The way that the OP is asserting that he turned this coin +56,000% in value implies that he actually significantly profited from the activity which is pretty doubtful. If it was all for fun that's great, I hope it was fun, this is a hobby after all.
Lots of ego in this thread for an AG3 modern dime which spent some time in a washing machine.
Wow... the never ending thread..... Although I did think it would grade damaged, it did not, and certainly made for a long and somewhat entertaining thread...Cheers, RickO
I don't believe that there is a Everyman Registry Set that this coin would fit into, not in dimes, Type sets or Low Ball Sets...I have been wrong before.
I love the thread title change. Nothing says I'm taking my ball and going home as a admin please delete title, especially when the original was such a chest thump, pat on the back kind of title. You can bet you're worn out dime that if this coin had sold for a hundred bucks or more ol' Boyer would have blown up this thread but rather he slunks off with whimper. Sad that he can dish it out but can't take it. So much contradiction from Boyer. He claims it was just a joke, just to see if maybe it would grade. It grades and he's suddenly a genius and the haters can hate because that's more money for him to make from the registry guys. Looks like he broke even at best, now it's just a joke again. Strange

For the record, I think that coin should not have graded and the buyer just spent $56 for a label (which is probably all they care about anyway).

I guess that could be considered interesting, depending on who you're asking. But it certainly isn't uncommon or unusual.

Neat coin. Looking forward to seeing it in the new owner's Registry set.

I cannot wait to read this thread from the beginning tomorrow!
To be truly entertained, read it from the newest post to the oldest.

I've come to the conclusion after reading this thread, why eBay sucks.
A thread is really only over when the Fat Lady has sung.
When you change the title you've ensured a new beginning....ask Andy.
$56 & change, well that was disappointing.

With all of the title changes to various threads recently.

Do we now need to screenshot the original post and re-post before it changes again.
As far as usefulness of the post, that depends.... you not so much .... others are probably just getting started
