I really don't see anywhere in that link where they are talking about slab tampering. Do you not see what looks like chipping of the plastic next to the coin in at least 3 different locations.?

I think you are looking at the little tabs that are part of the old rattler holders?
Actually they are at 2,6,and 10 and the one at 6 actually looks like its wedged between the coin and the holder holding the coin up. You guys might be able to grade coins but you sure can't grade a holder.
If you go to the ebay link and use the mag tool they are very pronounced.
I don't like it when I see that. you can see faint images of other grader on one. Perhaps store tight together with another coin for a while. I would only bid raw for it.

I believe that thread mentioned the idea of the coin going bad/spotting in the holder, which could be associated with tampering.
As Lance mentioned above, it sounds like you are describing the three prongs holding the coin. PCGS rattlers and ACG used those.
I looked at various rattler holders on ebay and a majority of them have some type of defect around the coin lens.
I tried to give you a like and an agree but you could only select one or the other. So agree it was.
Those little marks you are seeing are what held the coin in the holder. When they aren't there, the coins will come loose and move around and rattle. Those are perfectly normal.

Here is a thread where we have started discussing that particular coin:

What you are seeing is not unusual for rattler holders.

Looks like a bubble in the plastic (10:00 obv.) and think it's a slight defect in the slab.

Those are rattler prongs and completely normal.

Those prongs don't work very often!

Thanks all for educating me. Lance put the nail in the coffin. I don't have any OGH holders all of mine are newer styles.
Definitely not an issue with the slab.... Cheers, RickO
