I'd probably throw that last (1/4 sovereign?) in the garbage as it sticks out like a sore thumb.

They appear to all be sovereigns. There are 1/2 sovereigns but I never heard of a 1/4 sovereign.

Very nice.... Gold always looks so good when displayed in a random pile like that... much nicer than in a stack or individually. Cheers, RickO

You are correct. My brain is thinking both sovereign and 1/4oz at same time hence the "1/4 sovereign" misnomer. Thanks for the catch!

My googlefu turns up almost nothing, @Meltdown. My gut tells me it's one of the late 1980s early 1990s cable TV or back of magazine subscription medal series thingies. Seems to be well made. The nugget is a nice feature.

I saw that as well. The worthpoint sale seems to indicate that was an ebay sale from some time ago. Normally I stay away from unknown silver makers but this one is pretty well done and weighs right on. I like just about anything related to Nevada silver.
I have a similar piece with a nugget which I purchased in a Virginia City antique shop...

Love the shot of the Sovereigns! Great pieces you have there as well Meltdown.
I'm just a spectator this week fellas. I stopped in my local coin shop the other day....couldn't find anything that caught my eye, or a deal I couldn't pass up.

Just got my latest APMEX shipment in mail about an hour ago. Im on a 1/4oz kick right now.....hopefully that dies down soon so I can resume some serious stacking! Notice how much higher the new SLQ rounds stack than the Incuse Indians. That tiny bit of upset rim makes a huge difference!

    Troy pounds?

Yep , Troy pounds:) It's a long term deal with me. I've been purchasing it since it was at $14.65. It's been on an upward swing for a while now. With all of the instability in the world I have a feeling it will continue.
    Happy hunting, Joe

thanks guys,,, out of all those bars, rounds and coin, my favorites is the little 1/4 ounce buffalo piece in between the 5 oz button and the Kilo bar... given to me by my really cool great uncle over 45 years ago. He was one of the reasons I got hooked on coins oh so many years ago.
