Picked up a few new gold error coins

Both have nice rotation, with the 1847-O being almost 180 degrees!

You don't hear "few" and "gold error coins" used in the same sentence very often!

Might ask Fred W. if you can get the error attribution on the label of your 1847-O ... I think it would be worth significantly more $$$ as an error.

How do I get a hold of him? I was thinking about getting them to add it, but didn't know what fees, etc, I would need to pay.

He's also on the boards and will likely open this thread sooner or later.

And you'd have to check PCGS's website for fees but I'm guessing around $60, which would be worth it IMO for a gold error. Good luck with it!

Are rotated dies considered more as varieties than errors?

I've owned one of the Indians with that rotation in NGC slab, and it was just labeled as rotated die error. I've owned a 180 degree rotation that was called medallic alignment error (but it was for a different coin, this is the first of these I've seen).

Nice... gold coin errors seem to be quite uncommon (watch now, I will get a flood of notices on gold errors :D )... I do not think I have any error gold coins... Cheers, RickO

Reverse doubling on my 1891 $2.50. Not too uncommon and scarcely noticed by anyone other than specialists.

    Rotated dies are striking errors.

I had posted this thread asking about gold error coins

MrEureka provided this link which has a number of gold error coin pictures.
