Local Junk Silver Purchases
I stop in regularly at the local shop, just to check to see what is available. Mostly just common 90% silver stuff, but every now and then they have a few coins with lots of meat on em! They dont care what quality it is, just the weight. Check this purchase out for just over spot....

I'm glad you like them but to me unless the Kennedies are TDO/DDOs, that group would only be worth spot to me.
No DDO/DDR(all 64Ps), but all would likely grade MS65, except the walker which is likely a XF+
I like it and would do the same as you did erwindoc
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
Where is that gem 55-S quarter, Jason?
Looks like you did good- I do the same thing when going through the junk silver bins at a local pawn shop. Look for unc., and anything that may have gotten through below their radar. Sometimes they get a bit sloppy
Here ya go Greg. 54S. Same store. Easily MS64, with a shot at MS65, but sorry about the lousy pics. Too much glare from the album slide.
Maybe a bit better? Maybe not. This is why I get stuff professionally imaged.
Nice coins. A few members of my coin club would go a dollar or two over spot for the 1964s.
Nice pickups; especially the quarter. Junk boxes are awesome!
That quarter looks gem to me - very nice pick up for spot.
Some years back my dealer friend cherried a 97O quarter in VF from a bag of junk
silver from another dealer. I was more than happy to buy it way back of Bid, and quickly
sold it to a forumite at a very reasonable price. Then of course I had to pay well over Bid a few years later when I decided to start my own set LOL!
There was a guy at Long Beach with buckets of Large Cents. Some cost $15, some $20, and some $25. There was an 1802 in Fair. There were also quite a number of Large Cents with partial hair and full Liberty from the 1830s forward.
Haven't seen anything like it in a long time. Several years ago at Long Beach, someone had a large stack of 38 D Buffs graded PC 6 for $50 each.

"Sou Mangueira......."
All that really matters is the fact that you like them, congrats on the find. Wish I had a local store to stop in on now and then

Nice pickups.... actually, there have been significant finds shown here, over the years, from junk silver boxes... Well worth going through if one has the time.... Cheers, RickO

It's a nice way to hold silver.
