Post any 1876 Centennial piece.

@DUIGUY ...That is one beautiful centennial piece.... just gorgeous.... Cheers, RickO
Great thread and pieces. Love both pieces in their own way. "Let Us Have Peace" seems to be a long term and consistent aspiration.
Here's one I was following a while back and seriously considering. Anyone know who picked this up?
Also, be sure to check out the amazing Cardinal Libertas Americana Tokens of the US Centennial set.
Thanks Zoins!
Here is the most recent addition to that set - bringing the total to 103 different Centennial era tokens:
Here's one of the "official" U.S. Centennial medals:
1876 Stephen F. Whitman & Sons, Chocolatier, Philadelphia, PA, 23mm Diameter, White Metal.
Nice pieces all.

I'll try to post some when I get home. BTW, that's a nice Danish Medal, I have Bronze in layaway right now.
cool centennials everyone!
boy are there some nice tokens on here. nice pick ups all
Cardinal, why must you make me drool?
Thanks Flatwoods!
That last medal was struck from newly-engraved dies by Barber in 1876, so truly a Centennial medal. Mint records report that 86 pieces were struck in Bronze. Here is another, still displaying some min red color:
I have always been drawn to the Great Seal design for some reason.
Excellent pieces!
For the Centennial of the Great Seal in 1882, a different medal was produced by the U.S. Mint:
Pretty stuff everyone! I wish I had some to show off.

Sometime around 1874 the US Mint in Philadelphia discontinued use of its first steam-powered press. Enter George B. Soley who acquired the press as scrap in 1875. In 1876, at the Centennial Exposition, Soley displayed the press and struck a number of medals and tokens:

@Cardinal.... truly beautiful specimens.... what a great collection. Cheers, RickO
"Found in collection"

I am working on a centennial year mint set. If I ever become a millionaire I might be able to complete it. Does anyone know how to link to a set in the registry?
As your typing out your comment, use the 8th icon above -- the one that looks like two links of chain. That will let you link the webpage you want. What I do is, I open the target webpage in another tab of my browser, and then copy the address of that page. Then I just come back here, click the chain icon and paste the URL that was copied.
For example, here is my Registry Showcase it call Libertas Americana Tokens of the U.S. Centennial:
https://pcgs.com/setregistry/mysetregistry/showcase/2054
Now, for my contribution of an 1876 centennial piece ---
The token takes an interesting perspective on the Centennial, stating "Our 100th Year Begin July 5 1875" That being said, the Centennial Exposition did last quite a long time!
This is my centennial year mint set I am working on.

Thanks @cardinal for the info on how to post link.

Michael Kittle Rare Coins --- 1908-S Indian Head Cent Grading Set --- No. 1 1909 Mint Set --- Kittlecoins on Facebook --- Long Beach Table 448
You have me an excuse to post this one again...thanks!
Here is an odd piece that I happen to have. I have a number of "main stream" pieces that I have shown in the past, including set that made of wood.
