I'm torn on the new gold. I picked up one of the overstrikes, but have not picked up an of the golds with the wing and shield. I think I prefer this one to the one on .999, but I am still undecided.
Always a pleasant surprise waking up, and clicking on Dan's site to discover there are new offerings. Picked up a 2018 Clark Gruber St. Gaudens silver oz. Love the PL's so can't wait to see it in hand.
I just noticed the gold winged Liberty overstrike on our own gold eagle.
What happens if I don’t have one to send? Can I be charged for the coin and overstrike?
I sure would love to get one.

It's a good excuse to get one. My first St. Gaudens may be one I send off to be overstruck

Yep, I had to buy one, it's on the way to me and then to Dan.
Big Shout-Out to a fellow member for doubling the fun this summer
A slightly off center broad-strucked 1934 is now being paired with an even more prominent ghosting one

Guess i am a little slow does this mean you have two now ?
Just got my grades back on the Saint Gauden pieces. Went 11 of 12 on the brass and 6 of 7 on the silver...90%.
Not bad for an old country boy. I checked them before sending them in, I had about 7-8 pieces I knew were 69s that didn't make the trip to Englewood. Just shows the time and quality that Dan puts into his process. Hats off to ANACS, very quick service and I'd hug the grader if they were here.... ..photos next week.
Don’t know to much about these but there listed on the 3rd and 4th page of the fantasy overstrikes. Looks like a DC coin. Might be a special buy after the fact. Looks like the tail nicked off a bit. Also I see some faint doubling action. Very interesting.
Ohhh look I have a graded one must of bought it put it away. I did not see any cracks in that one.

Not new, but can anyone tell me how many of these where made with a die crack? This piece is on eBay now but I would like to confirm this??
"Die crack on reverse started early as a thin vertical line on shield, then gradually became more severe. Final die state also has a crack from the center to the 'C' of AMERICA."
Since the die crack "started early", I think that means most of the 260 minted (high-grade die pair 1) have a reverse die crack.

I just looked at mine it appears to have a crack in it going to put it under the micro and post a picture. Its Titled ANACS 1916 Token MS 69
1916 Token
Dan Carr Barber Half Dollar
O/S on USA 1893-1915 50C
And of course Autograhed by DC!
Hi Dan!
Here we go! From bottom to top on the Am Scope. 1st time I get to use it! Ohhh boy
I don't see the final die stage crack that goes from the center to the "C" of AMERICA. So it probably is a middle die state piece. One thing neat about it is that it has a visible "D" mint mark from the host coin.
Fantastic scores off Ebay today. I sold some Palladium to Provident so I could buy some nice coins. A scan of Ebay proved fruitful this time. And I have some Palladium profits left for more goodies.
I love his Holograms so I had to get this one
Then my first and only population of 1. How could I not? Really, how?

I just got done putting a few of the wizzard bars into a yellow paper hoping it soaks into the bars and makes it turn.
I picked this one up this DC 1906 Saint-Gaudens Winged Liberty, GOLD "DOUBLE EAGLE coin before she sold out.
Bought two of the PL St. Gaudens Silvers to go with the other ones.
Box of 20

to bad for the people who bought the 1906 Saint-Gaudens Winged Liberty, GOLD "DOUBLE EAGLE 999 the overstrike is much more desirable
I don't understand What is the different between them besides the stars would be left out on the host coin right?
One has history. History of being a real coin used in circulation. Proper gold weight and purity. Proper edge, etc. One is just a generic .999 blank.
I was in the middle of a reply but jwitten hit it on the head
@jwitten
@1940coupe

Nice. It definitely a DC piece because it has the COA... a DC collector told me there was 16 with this crack... seem cool if that’s the case...
