I plan to release some ("1943-S" Peace) in my store soon, probably next week.
The eBay piece was sold to someone at the recent Colorado Springs coin show.
It sure didn't take long to show up at auction.
I am very much looking forward to Dan Carrs 1929 Peace Dollar. My dad and I used to go to quite a few coin shows together and inevitably he would ask a coin dealer if he had any 1929 Silver Dollars, he knew full well that the US Mint didn’t mint and Dollar coins that year. I did find an Italian belt buckle 1929 Peace Dollar on EBay and gave him that one. Not a very good copy but it worked. Thanks Dan for considering a 1929 over strike Peace Dollar! 1929 was the year he was born

Thanks.
The seller certainly "stretched" reality with that listing. "Old Denver Press", "Moonlight Mint", "Daniel Carr". I don't know where they got those ideas.
The initials on it "BVNH" = Bernard Von Nothaus (maker).
Regardless, I think the "NORFED Dollars" are interesting. I like the design on them, although sometimes I think it was an exercise in how many different font styles can you have on one coin. I count 11 different.

I said I could find out what happened in minutes; let's talk to the driver. The rep said that's not how it's done - all investigations begin in Atlanta (5,000 miles away).

Oh no. Those are going to be more difficult to spot since they are not quite as unique as the other missing UPS items. But I will watch for them. The next time I see Paul Defelice (at a local coin show) I will ask about them using a different carrier for all "Carr" products.
Personally, I hate UPS and I will never use their services if I can avoid it.
A couple years ago I bought two sandblast cabinets from a company in Chicago. I paid that company for the shipping.
Then one day the two cabinets were sitting on palettes out in the parking lot. Ok, fine. But a week after that I received a bill from UPS for shipping. They claimed the driver came and there was no one there to accept the shipment. So there was a charge for bringing the cabinets a second time. But if the driver just left them in the parking lot on the second visit, why couldn't they have just been left there like that on the first visit ? I told UPS that, and I also told them that I paid the sourcing company for all shipping and I never agreed to delivery charges of any kind, nor did I sign anything. I refused to pay. Then the collection agency started calling. I told them to show me any document that I signed which agreed to any delivery charge. They did not, but still demanded money. I continue to refuse to pay. Just yesterday I got yet another letter from the collection agency. Straight into the trash it went.
