I voted "other" since my Box of 20, and collection as a whole, encompasses many sources (alphabetically); Collectors Universe (PCGS Forum members), eBay, Heritage, Stacks, other on-line dealers.

I am not really a box of 20 guy,but if I assembled a set,a surprising number of my keepers came from the folks here...... now if you want to talk about my box of Gennys
I voted favorite dealer since that's where most of my favorite coins have come from. I have also bought some from eBay, other dealers, and local coin shops. Major auctions only accounts for a few coins total.
That said, I should point out that I discovered some great dealers through purchases on eBay who have their own business websites and I now deal directly with them.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I have acquired my best coins from dealers at the major shows and at large auctions.
Many years ago I bought them from a few coin shops, but that has not been the case for quite a long time.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I'm a box of 20 guy but only have had 20 once. I,ll sell 3 or 4 sometimes but obtain 1 then have to start over again. As it sits now its only a box of 12. My best purchase came from an antique shop believe it or not. It's my 1883 proof Morgan that was graded PR 62 in an OGH.
Interesting that there are currently no responses for the category "coin shops." Several of my "Best 20" were purchased from other collectors, either through a coin club or a friendship (or both).

It was funny you made this thread today. Driving home today I was thinking about the coins I purchase to keep are usually from Heritage Auctions. The auctions are more convenient for me than going to large shows and looking for what I am really interested in. Going to the shows, I look for coins to resell. After logging in I saw this thread. How amazing!
Spring National Battlefield Coin Show is April 3-5, 2025 at the Eisenhower Hotel Ballroom, Gettysburg, PA. WWW.AmericasCoinShows.com
I have bought coins from many sources including coin shops but most have been from large coin shows and eBay and the best have been from large coin shows and Heritage Auctions.
I didn't choose one of your options, but they are from a variety of sources and I have never been able to fill out a Bo20 with 20 coins; I have always fallen short.
Shows, eBay. I call it my roster of 60 or first team like the varsity of a football team. It is what I take when setup at shows along w my currency inventory.
The box of 20 super idea but too addicted to coins gotta have more
My best, the top five or so within my Box of 20, came from forum contacts.
Most from forum friends, and one of those was acquired in person from one of my oldest friends (who also happens to be a forum member but who I've known since we met in 1993 or thereabouts while working in the same warehouse in North Carolina, long before either of us ever saw the Internet.)
I have picked up my best coins on the bouse floor, and usually ended paying too much for them. Good coins (for my budget) pop up here and there at the local B & M's, but my best shot at twirling real nice coins are at a regional show.

I obtained 10 of them in circulation back in the day....yeah I'm that old. Have had them
for all these years as there really was not a market for LOWBALL dollars until recently.

I am a series guy and don't do a box of 20, either.
But a large majority of my coins came from both eBay and Heritage.
The rest from trusted dealers.

Suprisingly (or not), not many ebay votes.
