BOUNCE!!!! Thanks for taking so many pictures. I saw the signed Catfish Hunter rookie in your slew of BBCE images...then contacted Reed via text...then bought it. YEAH!!!!
Awesome pics And commentary Bounce! Really appreciate living vicariously. I wonder if bbce is selling any of their more expensive boxes? That 79 hockey unopened? The 86 fleer boxes and the other basketball boxes like 72,73, 74 topps and 80 topps BK?
Getting back into the hobby after 25 years, looking for high grade cards and unopened wax boxes
This is the greatest thread here in a long time..thank you to everyone who took the time to do their write-ups and share their photos. Every year with these threads, it makes me want to attend more and more..I hope everyone had or is having a great time and found some nice things to purchase. Also another big thank you to the two gentlemen who took the time to try and find what I was looking for, but to no avail. Again, awesome thread and thank you.
Always looking for OPC "tape intact" baseball wax boxes, and 1984 OPC baseball PSA 10's for my set. Please PM or email me if you have any available.
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Love the write ups. Thanks for taking the time to do it. The BBCE booth had some amazing material it seems. It definitely makes sense for Steve to diversify into graded singles as well, as vintage unopened gets harder and harder to restock. The number of Fleer Jordan's in cases is mind blowing. I am going to keep snagging up Star Jordans (other than #101)for the right price as they show up. Star basketball is definitely in shorter supply and still reasonably priced.
Fantastic write up. I appreciate your time and effort in doing something like this. I did pick this beauty up from Jeff at Card Country. I wish you had a pic of the card in the case. This is my first 61 Fleer,
"EVERYBODY LOVE EVERYBODY IT SAYS IT RIGHT THERE ON THE WALL" - JACKIE MOON
Detroit airport is like Silicon Valley compared to the Atlantic City Convention Center for tech. A few more photos and explanations for those who could not make it.
BBCE with some sweet 1972 boxes and the elusive 1971 box. If we did a pack break on the 1971 box it would probably come out to about $143,643 per person
BBCE 1975 rack boxes along with some 10 cent and 15 cent 1976 Topps - love that year. (Above)
Some really nice 1974 boxes along with the 1975 rack boxes.
Here is an awesome display of Cobb cards - all in one place at Luckiest Man booth.
He also has some sweet pre war stuff which is all assembled in neat rows. Even made me buy my first pre war card as well - could sell ketchup Popsicles to women in white gloves. More photos later when I get home tomorrow.
Will post some pickups later - have to fly back home on the last leg and get some sleep. Good news is for my posting transgressions while on the plane I was only docked one Biscoffe cookie and 200 Delta Skymiles. I did sign a future World Cup player I scouted o the trip - not hard when a 5 year old can kick for 1:10 minutes straight!
Thank you Bounce and KC for taking the time to post the great write-ups and photos. They are much appreciated!

Great pics!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Here is the pre war items at Brady's table - just a sick collection of cards both in volume and quality.
* Sorry about the light glare in some of these - could not reach up the 60 feet to the ceiling to block it out. If anyone likes my photos I also do weddings and bar mitzvahs - best part is I can send the bride her photos via text although you do give up some quality with the IPhone 6 processor.
Thanks again for everyone's effort to post pics and updates for all those who couldn't attend.
Does anyone have a link to a dealer price list for a table? I tried looking on their website but had no luck.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.
Thanks to bounce and Kendall, much appreciated. I used to hate 1976 baseball cards in 1976, it seemed to me there were 2 or 3 traded cards(which I considered worthless, still do) in every pack. But damn those boxes look sweet!!
Fantastic write up. I appreciate your time and effort in doing something like this. I did pick this beauty up from Jeff at Card Country. I wish you had a pic of the card in the case. This is my first 61 Fleer,
Awesome card. I'm also close to picking up my first '61. This set is the word.
Collecting PSA 9's from 1970-1977. Raw 9's from 72-77. Raw 10's from '78-'83. Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks. Prefer to buy in bulk.

Great Big O RC. Congrats Bobby! I actually saw that card on Jeff's collector focus site last month and inquired about buying it, but Jeff said he wasn't doing sales as he was freezing his inventory for National. I'm bummed I didn't get it makes me feel better knowing it went to you. Enjoy!

That's an incredible card! Love the centering and color, and would not look out of place in a higher grades holder.
Thanks for the many great photos and write-ups, guys. You gave us some of your valuable time and effort. Sincerely, I appreciate it.
Maybe I'm a rube, or simply not street-wise, but the crack about selling ketchup popsicles to women in white gloves flew over my hear. Care to explain, even if it embarrasses me!
Again, thanks for the memories. ---Indiana Jones (Brian Powell)
Here are the remaining pictures I had. Kendall beat me to a few so apologize if there are doubles.
Couple of Big Train autographs. This was a big WISH LIST item for me, but I really want him on a baseball. Came up empty this trip obviously but was still cool to see some.
Since I'm a Houston guy, I'm going to make you look at some Correa's. That was another WISH LIST item for me, but prices were about the same as eBay so I ultimately decided to wait.
Here's some serious cardboard
I think this is Brady's (?) stuff? Next to Card Country - strong cards no doubt but I'll share a few comments about that in my final write-up. Awesome to look at.
BGS 9.5 Fleer set - this may actually tougher than PSA 10 set honestly
Two more cards that were on my wish list, this was one of only two Paige's I saw and was the best one by far. Problem for me is, $7,000 for a car with a tire track on it doesn't seem like a particularly wise purchase, so I left it for someone else.
Just thought this was a fun case, if you don't see something here you like then, well...I'm not sure what you like to collect then but it must not be cards!
REALLY COOL BBCE CASE - they had a couple full of a great selection of display boxes! This isn't really my thing, but to see them all together was very cool.
They did a pack bust of 55 Bowman on Wednesday. One poor guy had two slots, and after 5 randoms he hit spots 1 and 9, i.e. he got the gum and the wax. UGH! Pack was kind of a dud, best card was the Schoendienst but it was the wax card.
Funniest part was the announcers, as they tried to talk up each and every card and make it last 15 minutes. The main guy was kind of like a subdued Vince Vaughn, they said it was "really special" or something to pull a Hall of Famer from the pack, I don't know that anyone in the break or watching felt it was too special, though. But that's pack busting for you - big potential payoffs but mostly disappointment.
Games Used Jerseys coming up for auction soon. The Rodgers is magnificent.
Another fun case - I remember some folks talking about these on the board not that long ago - they're also kind freaky I think, but I could see why some people like them
This one goes in the "thanks for clearly marking your items" department. Turned out these were sets, not priced of course. Nothing like a few dozen numbers to let you know what's graded what.
A few of the football cards I mentioned previously, these were in somewhat short supply. Hasn't always been that way.
No Name Frank
I know this is a fan favorite on the board
The Namath's I previously mentioned. They are absolutely nice looking cards, just not sure they're worth nearly double the recent sales. This was the same dealer complaining he had too much inventory - maybe consider your pricing?
Thought this was funny. As it turns out, there were a couple booths that were taping the action, I suppose for theft. Makes sense at some places I guess, but this one was definitely a joke.
Some other packs in various places.
Here's some REALLY early stuff
HEROES OF THE CIVIL WAR - don't know anything about them but they look cool, had some kind of display album or something with them.
Bounce - thanks for the extra photos and write up. Been busy doing stuff around the house since I have been goofing off for 3 days in AC - mowing, tearing out rose bushes, getting kitchen ready for a reno this week - granite everywhere and need to drywall, new backsplash, under cabinet lighting, new island, and granite for bathrooms! Tonight will be fun since that is when Keith Jr and I will go through the stuff I picked up for him - 11 year old had a wish list of Banks, Aaron, Jackie, Carew... No Pete Rose because he said "he cheated", and definitely no Bonds or Clemens for the same reason - kids I also brought him back several jumbo boxes of 2016 Bowman baseball along with regular Bowman baseball boxes and numerous loose packs - need to increase the chance of auto cards since they are one per box. We usually do the modern stuff at night at the hotel during the National but they could not make it this year. I also won a sweet UD Griffey rookie PSA 9 in the Card Country promotion (thank you again Jeff!) which he will be stoked about. Also, big thank you to Al at Love of the Game for the Cobb promo card for Jr - he will love it!
Since you were so nice to do write ups (Bounce) I might be able to hook you up on your above request. I don't do much modern and have about 5 graded Bowman Chrome cards because I have an 11 year old and have one of these left - send me a PM and I will see what I can do.
there were a TON of Clemente's at the show - all grades
More tickets - SB ticket and WS ticket collecting seems like it might be fun
Maybe this auction house read my post? Now if they'd just price things.
Another cool booth - old gear. Clubs, bats, gloves, vintage basketballs and footballs - I may try and grab a few of these type items, they display so well and would really add to the decor of a mancave in my opinion.
Three Presidents you rarely if ever see on baseballs. I think they were authenticated, but don't know for sure. Gotta be careful with things like this certainly.
This was my final pickup of the show. Really happy to grab this on the way out, hear me now believe me later, golf items like this are very undervalued.
I collected a few funny quotes I thought you all would like, these are direct quotes from conversations I heard on the Floor on Friday from various dealers. If it turns out you're one of the people who said this, well, punch yourself in the face.
1) "Eye appeal is all that matters in this market." - related to a PSA 2 Mantle with pretty significant paper loss. Yes the front is great, but the back is hideous. Asking price - $50,000!
2) "Prices are going up basically by the hour."
3) "Well, online prices can give you an IDEA, but the market is changing fast." - related to someone showing a guy the last 5 sales prices on eBay
4) CUSTOMER - "I think I'd like to trade. Which cards are yours?" DEALER - "The tables are intermittent, depending on which card determines who you negotiate with." There were 4 tables in a row with 8-10 cases, none of the cards had prices marked and apparently cards were "co-mingled" in some of the cases. Couldn't make that much easier could they?
5) ME - "How much is the RG3?" DEALER - "We sold it online earlier in the week, we need to take it out of the case." ME - "You are aware it's Thursday right?"
6) ME - "How much on the Tim Duncan Skybox autographics?" - there were two, graded but not high (like 8s, 8.5s maybe) DEALER - "$3500" ME - "For both?" DEALER - "No, each." ME - "So I guess you bought the one on eBay for $685?" DEALER - "I didn't see that one or I would have bought it." ME - "OK, well maybe next time you could just say not for sale." - BIG SMILE
Last year they were selling 79T boxes before the National for $1800. Then at the show he dropped them to $1500 - Steve told me he picked up a bunch and wanted to get rid of them.

Does anyone know if any of bbce's 86f basketball boxes sold yet?
It was still there when I walked out today, I assume it's the same one priced $75k
I will Brady's picks to complement Kendall's of CC when I get to Philly
I thought I read somewhere that Steve had 4 this year.
I only remember one in the display case, see pics on page one
Guess it's possible it was replaced with another if sold, but there weren't 4 in the case anytime I went by
What I would give to rip that 59 fleer Ted Williams box!
If you do, I'll buy the empty box and an empty wrapper or two from you
