Media Badge/Button from the last game of Cal Ripken's career in 2001 (2" x 2"); First one I had ever seen:
IMF
Wow - very nice Bill.
Never seen that before - and that's big for a pin - bet it looks nice in hand.
I'm a fan of pins/badges/buttons. Tho never declared it a "focus."
Hi Mike:
Thanks for the kind words; I thought this badge would be a nice companion piece to go with a similar badge I own from his record breaking game in 1995:
IMF
Successful dealings with Wcsportscards94558, EagleEyeKid, SamsGirl214, Volver, DwayneDrain, Oaksey25, Griffins, Cardfan07, Etc.
Dustin ... how many different PSA 10 Jordans do you now own?
STAY HEALTHY!

Recently found this after about a year and a half of searching. Now if only I could find a nice sealed 1988 set. 1988-1992 were the only years I know of that OPC made factory sets. If anyone knows differently please let me know. 1988 and 1989 seem to be the most scarce of all the years with 1992 being the most plentiful. This was a 7 day auction and was very happy to land it.
Always looking for OPC "tape intact" baseball wax boxes, and 1984 OPC baseball PSA 10's for my set. Please PM or email me if you have any available.
Wow, some really nice pickups guys! Congrats. I have a few new adds, I will get scanned and up.
Mike, I would love to see your house and how you have all these games and vending machines displayed. I bet it's cool looking.
UFFDAH, great Clemente, you have some sweet cards on CF. Thanks for sharing them.
SpinFade, I have about a dozen Beams that look perfect to me. I can tell you that Shaq and MJ that came from boxes from the exact same case graded out for me as PSA 10. I though I might build the set, but decided not to. They are yours if you want them, just PM me.
Dustin, I've never seen the Scoring Kings MJ before. That card is awesome looking!!!
Matt I collect: 80’s Rookies and 86 Fleer Basketball
Is that a 1/2" brick screwdown holder I see? Love the old school look. I remember when the cards in the display case were sorted by what size brick was used - the thicker the brick the more 0's it cost!
My name is Ronald and post on a few other boards. I've been trying to figure this one out and can't seem to find the full editor tab to post a picture.
I went to the testing forum first and when I started a new topic it was there, but when trying to reply and add to this thread, I could not find it.
So just copied and pasted down below.
However, if anyone could help, that would be great.
In the meantime, I am primarily into Basketball and here is my newest pick up that I am really excited for.
Hopefully it will cross to an 8. and thank you PSA for the tip on picture hosting info!
Hi Matt - thanks much. Credit to Dberk for encouraging me to check out and share on Collector Focus which is a nice site. Dberk has a cool collection that is fun to look at and admire!!
Ronald - That Muffin is, well, different LOL. The 72' Dr. J is such a classic, his Dunks and play were so fun to watch with the Sixers. Great card you have there!!!

Added another one to my set. There is one PSA 10, but I can't justify the 4X price in this case. 61 down, 35 to go.

I'm not sure why, but the art style, the names.. it just sucked me in. Scouted Ebay and found a lot of raw cards just to dabble in it. A couple of years later, my grandfather at 88 years old was recovering from intestinal surgery. We got on the topic of boxing and he randomly tells a story about how he beat up a New York boxer named Jimmy Flood in grade school. The name rang as familiar, so I pulled it up on my phone, showed him and he said, "Yep, that's the son of a *****." From that day, I knew I had to get serious about the set.
As far as the set, they came in single card, 1 cent packs and in panels via 5 cent packs. I have one original, unseparated panel graded by PSA but it has a minor crease. Still a cool item IMHO. I've seen an unopened 5 cent pack on Ebay with an asking of $6,000 which is insane. I would guess around $1,000 is more realistic. From my experience, the toughest cards in top condition are the Bob Murphy, a short print, and the last card in the set, Ezzard Charles. A bunch of top condition cards showed up on 4SharpCorners in the past couple of months, but they won't budge on the prices. I've asked more than once. Amazing selection, but a little too rich for my blood.
The set just has a mystique to it. After reading the back of the cards, I ordered about 6 books off Amazon to read more about boxing history. I love this stuff.

Picked this card up at the White Plains show today. I didn't get it cheap of course, but somebody paid more than twice what I did for a PSA 9 of the same card in a Probstein auction early this week. So that makes me feel better ??
Love those horizontal action shots from the 1970s. Sharp card with an old 4SC cert # on the flip.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

By the first three numbers in the cert. Years ago, cards graded by 4SC bore a sequence of cert #s beginning with 81XXXXXX. A few years back, when PSA started its present run of sequential cert numbers for all submissions of graded cards, they did away with that designation.

I've got quite a few Jordans but not graded. The popularity for his cards - in general - seem to be on an upswing?

Thanks! Yes they are on the rise. I'm just glad I got into most all of mine when they were quite a bit cheaper.

I also found some nice raw vintage, these will be sent in for grading at some point:
Dustin...... Those Jordan's are spectacular. I love the total D card.
Matt... Those raw cards are beauties. It looks like the Bird Magic is at least an 8.
Everyone else awesome pickups in August

Eyeballed a nice raw example a few weeks ago. Threw a sensible, but aggressive bid at it. Still lost. Strike two.
Found this one and noticed how similar it appeared to strike two. Got it for lower than a sensible, but aggressive price. Hit.
I've made a huge plunge into basketball cards over last few months.

Sweet card of "Sweetness" and the basketball cards are great - love the SHAQ!!
Here is a Bench to bump the Aug Thread. Really happy with the front and back centering along with the colors on this one.
UFFDAH, I said it earlier in this thread I believe....You have some really nice high grade cards. Thanks for sharing them on CF.

I've learned to embrace my last name and have fun with it:
Muffin Man
Stud Muffins
Crud Muffins
Ratty Cakes
Nuffin Like My Muffin
Muffin Tops
Muff Said
Stuffin Muffin
And the list goes on and on.
The wife never let's it go though.

That's one superb 4 on the Robinson!
I have wanted to add this card to my collection for years.... I wish I would have purchased it a long time ago when they were much cheaper.
great looking card
BPorter - You hit a home run with that 61 Fleer Big O.
Chris - The '68 Bench fits right in with the rest of your collection. Awesome card!
Matt - I love that '48L Jackie. Centering is top notch and the registration/color is off the charts. Excellent pick up.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

I got this one today - just like old photos of BB.
Listed as 1880s Dykes Team photo - 4x5" not include backing - blank backed.
Hiya Ronald
First welcome!
Like to see some more Bkb collectors here.
I just did a quick edit from photo bucket.
I don't used PSA to "host" my pics.
Do you have a "free" account like Photobucket?
I recommend you sign up and use that to host & "edit" your photos. May be easier?
To be honest, I don't remember them having an edit feature - other than they'll host a "certain" size scan/pic?
Next - what a great card buddy.
I'm looking forward to your Bkb posts.
Nice, Jeff, I love the Payton RC! Such a classic card.

Congratulations on your wait and pickup Jimmy.
Kind of a fan of OPC.

Great centering on Satch - wow.
Very nice pickup.
And congratulations - making it to over a 1/3 down.
How many cards in the set?

This is a really nice card - sorry I can't remember if I know your first name.
Know nothing about the set - are the cards packed in pairs and pull apart?
Congratulations on being almost 2/3 down. Isn't there a few very "tough" cards in that set?

Thanks for the interest! My name is Joe, nice to meet you Mike. I got interested in the set after PSA did an article on it about three years ago.
