Sounds like he ticked someone off. Set up a search and just went looking til they found something

It's too bad. The show is entertaining late night. I pull up an episode from the cable box to fill in the time before bed. With this situation, the History Channel might get skittish about running it. I know a lot of people really like the Chumlee character, but he often times got on my nerves. Rick might be really angry a "Chum" this time.

Let's not forget innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The problem for Pawn Stars ,the TV show,is that there will be no uptick resulting to its all-important ratings from this incident involving Chumlee. Ratings are what drives advertising rates in TV land.

At the least, there will be no more Chumlee on the show until the matter is satisfactorily resolved.
Chumlee will be written out of upcoming show scripts for a time. Shows that have been recently produced with Chumlee in them that have not yet aired will most likely be shelved and may never air.

It's all about dollars. Production costs for TV shows like Pawn Stars are staggering.Yes,The Old Man is livid.

I like Pawn Stars.I wish them the best.

He will be hard to replace. Just look at The Three Stooges after Jerome "Curly" Howard died. Shemp was a good comic in his own right, and had been a solo act in the short features. But mention his name to Stooges fans, and many of them roll their eyes, unfairly I think. After Shemp Howard died, it really went way down hill with Joe Besser and only slightly improved with the last "Curly Joe."

19 drug charges??? Did they just write him up for every single thing they could think of? Trying to see what will stick through any plea deals? That seems mighty high.

Not to morph this thread to a Stooges debate, but I did find Shemp a very good replacement for Curly (not at first mind you, but I did appreciate his comic skills with time).

I do agree with you that Joe Besser and Curly Joe were not so good (actually I'd say 'terrible' if you ask me).

I was not aware that I bashed non coin posts. I often ignore them.

As for the Pawn Stars thing, some interesting paper money and coin segments do show up on the show from time to time, which makes the arrest of one of the stars relevant.

I don't believe I stated that EVERY responder to this thread is a non coin topic basher, I believe the word I used was MANY. my point is there are people that will bash some people for beginning a non-coin related thread and those same people seem to have no problem with it at other times. I don't expect any explanation by those that im referring to, the explanation is obvious

Numerous topics on the forum where Pawn Stars' coin purchases were discussed. Chum also appears on his own silver coin/round. Pawn shops are part coin dealer. While hard to believe, Chumlee is a coin dealer, albeit probably not a very good one. I recall one episode where they were negotiating to by an early, better date mint $20 Lib for around $30K-$75K.

Meth is something that will take you down to the ground or underground in a grave.
Do what ever you can to get in between meth and someone you love that's using it.
    Truly a horrible problem.

I have never been one to bash someone who starts a non-coin related thread.

But I do find it slightly hypocritical that those that do, never bash the non-coin related threads that state "I'm fifty today, post a coin...." or "broke my leg today, operation tomorrow, wish me well....
or "my mother-in-law's house burned down, everybody's OK, but ....".

    You get the idea.

Either you have it so this forum absolutely allows NO non-coin-related threads and yes, that would even include, births, birthdays and death notices (of non-numismatic importance) , or you allow the few that we do have on this fine forum and carry on, without the 'bashing'.

Pawn Stars is a legit coin shop.
After all, they just negotiated and purchased a 1964 (Carr) Peace dollar.

    Regarding (all of) the charges:
It is a tactic to charge just about every conceivable (yet mostly provable) crime by the DA's office so plea deal arrangements go a bit more smoothly, down the road.

    I'm not surprised.

Sitting on top of the world (with little to no talent) and now he blew it over something soooo STUPID.

Pity, but what did he expect?

This topic is very coin-related , as they have a lot of coins on the show.

I recently saw a 1922 PF 61 High Relief Matte Peace Dollar that a guy won in a poker game! Rick bought it for $80K.

Hard drugs Bad, guns not so much. I'd hate to jeopardize the 2nd amendment privilege over such a mistake. But hey, Sin City, notoriety and immaturity are a bad recipe. Tough to watch the steamroller of reality run a guy over, but getting caught saves lives.

I found it odd that the article discussed a felony violation for having a firearm in the home.
Having a firearm in the home is legal, except in these two cases:

    1) The firearm in question is fully automatic (machine gun) and there is no permit for it.

    2) The owner of the firearm is a convicted felon.

Is Chumlee a convicted felon already ?
