Wonder why they took the high relief Saint. Everything else, except possibly the gold bar, is very easy to dispose quickly and quietly.

That's a heck of a lot of volume to just walk off at a show...

Stolen out of a vehicle? I don't see how anyone could pull off a theft like this from the floor.

That is a LOT! Isn't it unusual to be hearing about this so long after the crime?

How do you lose 10 lbs of gold?

I hope his inventory was insured. A theft like this could put a dealer out of business.

The HR Saint was probably in a case with the other coins. Agree that it would be hard to sell but I assume it's already been cracked out of its serial numbered PCGS slab to make it more difficult to identify. In the MS67 grade there probably weren't any copper spots or noticeable bag marks that could be used as a "finger print" to identify this specific coin.

I assumed it was stolen from a vehicle based on the shear volume and weight of what was stolen.

Some disparaging comments within this thread. . . essentially calling out the victim as committing what would be felony fraud.

Hope he doesn't get wind of this thread as all it'll do is secure him being a victim twice.

Could have been in a 2 x 2 box.. That could have been taken without much trouble.. Ten pounds isn't that heavy.

I see only one remark in this thread that I would consider disparaging. It does need to be edited.

Are there no details on this theft? At the show? After the show? Armed robbery?

Vehicle broken into? Seems strange with the value of this theft we do not know more.

    Cheers, RickO
