If 17k is accurate and all 17 were HH limits then they're almost sold out, right? I'm surprised they didn't go on back order. They must've produced all 90,000 upfront.
Got mine in 2 hrs after the cluster with no problemo -- no sign of B/O.
This was nuthin compared to the Ike fiasco that happened within 11 minutes!! WT-u-know-what woosies 'plaining!

<< <i>Shocked there were that many orders today honestly. >>
I'm a bit surprised, but not shocked...
All previous special finish coin sets (well, excluding the 2014 Am $1 set) has always been $50+. This definitely puts this set into both the affordable and giftable category, even for non-collectors.
My other thought is the mintage and length of availability allows all the television hawkster and biggie-coin-mart networks to get all they wanted. I'm gonna WAG they got half the mintage.
I was hoping to see the order limit lifted so I could get a few more for stocking stuffers (if they lift the limit then I will), but I'm not going out of my way to get any more...

Yeah, I was thinking that's why the Mint page didn't get updated. They even had the web guys putting sets together.
Just got shipping email. You have to say the new fulfillment company ships fast. Their ordering system they run for the mint started well but has shown it has serious flaws. The next test is the Kennedy C&C. Will the bugs be exterminated by September 16th @ noon?

Yes, I do like that they seem to have stock on hand and do ship fast. My issues with shipping are all around "smartpost" usage. STUPID!
I seriously wonder how much is "saved" by using smartpost rather than USPS priority mail the entire way.......
I totally agree about Stupid Post. Luckily they changed the policy for Hawaii and possibly Alaska addresses and I no longer have to put up with 21 day Stupid Post on regular orders like this $1 C&C set. The $4.95 charge comes Priority Mail. However, subscribed items still come Stupid Post with no option as to shipping method.
I heard an account from one poster on another forum that had the set in hand, that all their coins were covered in black spots. Anyone else have this issue?

Wouldnt surprise me, the QC at the mint has been terrible on these latest releases.

We just heard back from the Mint. First day of sales reached 44,344 sets >>
should have left the mintage at 50,000 >>
They were prepared with at least 44,344 sets ready to go at the opening of sales. The mint is slowly learning. Still available on the mint page. Now if they can just have scale-able by demand servers to handle the first minutes rush.

These could be selling into next year. Still a good long term hold because of the first ever W mint mark. Hopefully they will not produce these next year and treat them like the 2012-2013 special ASE sets.
I wonder if the sac dollars will end with the Presidential Dollars next year.

I think it has a lot to do with your zip code and Fedex hubs and locality. Just because his was shipped first, does not mean that it was also packaged first awaiting shipment.
All orders placed from relatives and friends, within the first 30 minutes from the DC metro area (MD &VA), had a fedex smartpost mailing date of 8/25

That does not apply to my scenario. Nor does the zip code idea. The friend who is 4,000 orders higher than me lives in the same zip code as me and we both used the same budget shipping level.
Call the Mint and say you are thinking about cancelling the order stuck in processing. You most likely will be told it has shipped - with an email and tracking # shortly to follow...

Wow. 23 hours. Speedy.

Only 1 of them shipped yesterday....
Opening now

Nah. The upside is that they didn't cost $400 over the value of the metal they're made with.
