Well, if they got it for that little bit of friction on the cheek, then 58. But it's really nice ... and 63 wouldn't amaze me ... but best guess says 62.

Most definitely pretty.

A coin like this is hard to grade from a pic since hairlines and minor scuffs don't show up in a pic but can be seen while examining a coin under a good light source while rotating and tilting the coin. I'll guess 64 with the understanding that I might change my mind if I examined it in hand with a good loupe and a good light source. In any event it looks like a very nice coin and would be a nice addition to a gold type set.

I have seen coins of that quality in both MS-64 and 65 holders. My grade would be MS-64+, but I would not be surprised if it were in an MS-65 holder.

Thanks for all of the guesses and comments.

Overall, I think the guesses were close to the PCGS assigned grade. The distribution was:

MS62: 2
MS63: 1
MS64: 7
MS64+: 2
MS65: 4
MS66: 1

Ablinky and BillJones nailed it at MS64+. Of the 17 guesses, 13 were within a half a point of the PCGS grade.

I really like this coin for it originality and lack of any significant marks. I think it is an upgrade candidate to full gem level someday. The seller described it as "A wonderfully superb, fully lustrous coin just on the cusp of gem status, but with the eye appeal of a full gem all day long. The color, quality, freshness and eye appeal are simply outstanding!"

The coin is a classic 65/64 split (obverse/reverse), so the + grade in this instance is the best way to represent it. Probably one of the intentions of the + grade since we stopped grading front/back.

Love the color/surfaces of the coin. Tough to find nice like that.

I would be confident in grading it MS-65, even though it is difficult to interpret luster from the images.
