Collectors rightly perceive PCGS grades coins to a higher standard.
This is especially true on modern coins. Just compare the populations - and the prices realized - with the competitors. PCGS graded coins command higher prices.
We shouldn't chastise a poster, but a better approach would be to educate them on the reality of the market place.

Any combination of the above......
I long for the days of coin posts...informative, instructional, just plain fun. Show the coins in the 7070/type sets. Don't have to have the EAC in MS70 to be nice, just show good honest coins. Show toned coins.....toned progressions....coin templates. Show recent purchases that aren't just for immediate sale. Show coins sold and missed. Show coins that "return home" like ET Show crackouts graded or genned and try to figure out what. Show crossovers (either way) Talk about great interactions with members/dealers Ask for coin advice (the recent "clean the loupe" is an example....a good question, a good thread) etc etc etc.
I really do miss those days when those types of threads dominated and weren't tossed aside with all the off topic postings that happen these days.

Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

My bad. Regardless though, the PCGS Authorized Dealer has always been the mainstay of PCGS Submissions.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I appreciate the fact with this publicly traded stock the finances are clear and open to the public. Which is not true of NGC and their other connected companies.

I've improperly asked about buying OGP in thread here instead of the BST.

That severe (note modifier) taint is well known. Note well known.
I explained this in response to an airplanenut post of similar topic:
There is debate, or was, about the degradation of the concentration camps.
Let them disappear or renew and keep them up
My advice is to keep them up
There was a dot com bubble followed by a housing bubble followed by a commodities and fixed rate bubble. How fast we don't learn.
They are reminders and might help to keep history from repeating itself.
Note in the Nobel thread I specifically said "I'm not saying don't buy it (or collect), just be aware of the baggage."
Although what he said was not as bad as genocide, it is a taint I wanted to be sure people know.
<< <i>They are reminders and might help to keep history from repeating itself. >>
I am not advocating the destruction of Nazi artifacts, but why value add to them and contribute to their marketability?
Can we expect the new ISIS coins to be holdered next?

If ISIS wants to submit their coins to the U.S. for grading, they may submit through Guantanamo Bay.
Not sure PCGS has a field office there, yet.
